You are very generous to even think about getting something for a person you don't know well. If the gal is a newlywed, she likely has a ton of 'stuff' but would probably be delighted to get something that is just for her. Gift cards work well - but if you want something that she and her hubby can share, why not a box of microwave popcorn and a Blockbusters (or whatever video shop is in your neighborhood) gift card to go with it? That way she can pick the show she wants to see and enjoy an evening with her new hubby.

I think a gift card for the other young woman is fine. You can find a very nice birthday card- maybe a little more expensive one and put the gift card inside. Hallmark makes some now with music that are fun. I have also seen some that fold out like pop-up books.
If you don't want to do a gift card, you can put together a small gift basket with maybe toiletries- like shower gel and lotion. Bath and Body Works have some already made-up.
If she is a coffee or tea drinker, you can put together a nice basket with mugs, sweets, tea bags and maybe some small sacks/pouches of coffee???

How about a Wal~Mart Gift card? Or any store gift card That way they can use it for what ever they wish. Put $20.00 on it and pop it into a birthday card! There problem solved!
Flowers are also a good idea, In fact I wouldn't mind flowers myself! Best of luck my friend! The Shado

A vibrator? That's something you buy a close friend. For soemone you don't know so well, start off with an "experimentation" kit so that she and her new husband don't get bored.
Okay, on a serious note, I'd probably opt for a gift card. If you don't know the othe girl too well, it shouldn't be an issue if her gift isn't as cool as your friends.

The gift card is the way to go. You're all at an age where she should understand that you gave it to her because you don't know her very well.

A few thoughts: I don't see anything wrong with a gift card. If you feel obliged to get her an actual present, ask for a gift receipt so she can return it if it's not her style or it doesn't fit. People I don't know well have gotten me pajamas, and I always appreciated them.

You know what you don't know her very well so therefore you are not entitled to give her anything but a Card and a gift certificate -- I know you think its unfair but if you don't know her well enough to know what she would enjoy. You can get to know her over the next year and get her something better next year!

Well, stick with what you know. Ask your friend what she might like. Maybe you cant do that. if not go with the gift card. she will understand knowing that you dont know her that much. you can always ask her what she would like.
