In the political section, a would be defamist posed a question about what to do to the thieves who stole potatoes from his kebab shop. Personally, I believe they were simply customers who were disgusted about eating spuds with kebabs day after day. I'd rather have mine with couscous or rice. And that got me to wondering, what do you serve with them and do you have any special recipes to share?

when i grill kabobs i usually also grill potatoes. i usually put a few in the microwave to cook em partially, then slice them in half and then across 3 times, to kind of bite size pieces. then i put them on a double layer of tinfoil and curve the edges like a bowl. add some butter, onion and this creole seasoning(tony something) and grill em for about 20 min or longer. if you let em go long enough they get golden and they are sooooo yummy. i do corn on the cob that way too, without the husk. mmm

In Iraq the kabobs I ate were made of ground lamb with onion in it. They were served with "hobez" that's my guess, a flat bread much like a tortilla. One day the guy who made them ran out of "hobez" and gave it to me with "samoon" a small loaf. That was my favorite, but he was very upset about it, its not how it is supposed to be eaten. Back home I like them with onion and potatoes, that's good enough for me!
