Quit blaming the Atheists alone for speaking up against prayer in schools and religious classes in schools. Pagans don't want your religion pushed on our children either. Though it is ignored for your childrens sake, Many things you have your children do are illegal. You think you aree following the words of your Bible and thus you have the right to do anything you wish until you are stopped and then your cry like babies that you are being persecuted.
There is a name for the attitude and actions of most Christians that has been diagnosed by Christian Doctors as well as learned atheists and Pagans. It's name is megalomania. Look it up, it fits the words you constantly place on Yahoo Answers.
May the Gods of all the world and heavens forgive the Christians and cure them.
If you want the Truth.....Ask a Pagan.

I just realized I must amend my statement. I should have typed Protestant Christians. I apologise to the Roman Catholics.

I just realized, because an answerer noticed, that some Protestant Christians didn't really read anything beore their rote rot write syndrome kicked in. It's all part of the mental disorder. I'll shout it out I AM A PAGAN. I BELIEVE IN ALL THE GODS AND STUDY THEM ALL.

Here's an idea! Instead of teaching Christianity, Paganism, Atheism, Buddhism, Judaism, etc in school, why don't we teach kids how to read, write, do mathematics, and interact with other people in society? The whole reason school exists, to learn about how to function in life. So shut up about any kind of religious teachings and teach basic skills, the way it is supposed to be. Let these kids learn how to function before they learn about what makes the world a horrible place. Then, when they are old enough, they can decide for themselves what they want to believe in.

I beleive that if a Christian wants their child to grow up in a Christian surrounding then send them to a Christian school. Simple. My parents did - and they managed the payments despite the fact we had very little money.
In public schools there are so many kids from different faiths that to push Christianity on them would be an outrage. I can't imagine Jewish parents would go for this either.
Christians may believe they have the truth, but there are those of us who don't. And some of us have spent a great deal of time getting to that point. Leave your religion at home - and allow other children to grow up how their parents would like them too.
*edit* why has no one realized that the asker of this question is Pagan not an Atheist! Are people so limited that they cannot pick up on simple concepts? And there is a big difference between Atheist and Pagan.
If you are going to critize someone at least pay attention to what they say. It only makes the Christian dissenters look moronic.

What does an Athiest teach his children? The Law? Does that NOT come from the ten commandments? Morals? Now THAT comes from the Bible. (Take a look inside...)
But, I think, in today's society, we are trying to forget the main foundation of America. Christianity. (Every Country has a "Recognized Religion," in which their tradition reflects upon them as a people.) Sure there was a clash between the Theist and Deist, but that was AFTER Christianity was established. And as years have gone, our doors (America)have been open to immigrants from all over, thus creating the "Freedom of Religion" Act to be so used now.
But not one American can say that the founding Religion of America WASN'T Christianity.

Yes, confront popular Christian "idols". For example one idol is the belief that the Holy Spirit is person. (The Bible gives absolutely no evidence of this.) Another idol is the belief that Christ always existed ---- when the Bible teaches that He was begotten of the Father in Heaven, and then born as a human here on earth. (See Prov. 8:22-25 and many other Scriptures). Another expose on popular Christianity is that the Sabbath is Saturday, not Sunday. Another bomb to blow the errors of men out of the water is that the dead do not go to Heaven or Hell right after death, but await the resurrection in the grave. She probably believes that we go to Hell or Heaven right after dying. And then tell her that hypocrisy has been baptized, and backsliding has been praised and exalted in the church, scaring many perfectly good candidates from ever baptizing. And tell her that you would really like to see Christianity being lived out. Ask her if she will kneel and rededicate her life to Christ with you, and work with you to purge all hypocrisy and sin from your lives, and then see what she will say. Or just plain ask her if her life is free from sin and hypocrisy. And then ask her if she realizes that you and your husband (if he is a around, or has the heart to do this) alone have the rights of the priesthood in your home, according to the Bible. All of which needs to be said in love. So, just pray and ask God to help you, and she probably will come to respect you much more.

I think religion SHOULD be taught in schools BUT only if not one religion is the focus. Religions are an integral part of our society, tolerance of differences comes easier if a person is fully informed. So yes, teach kids to pray, but teach them to meditate as well. And teach them that some people believe praying helps and some believe it doesn't.
Nothing wrong with religion. Nothing wrong with choosing not to have a religion. To gain religious tolerance, the children need to be taught that their parent's way is not the only way.

i just wanted to mention something you might take as good before i go into my long and detailed answer to your statement. i saw you are a 'top contributor' to RUINING OUR CHILDREN!! Christianity is the one real and TRUE Religion. There are not any more than that. So you can kiss all your 'gods' goodbye because they are all fake and have people like you in their clutches. do u know where you will go when you die THE BAD PLACE!!!!!!!!!! that is where you will get for not believing and being sourly awful to good people like the Christians of the world. So what if the Christians want prayer in school? What's the worst it could do? Turn the children into Christians who will go to Heaven while their parents go 'down there'. Is that what you're afraid of, losing your children to God? Well lemme tell you something wise guy GOD CREATED YOUR CHILDREN AND YOU YEAH YOU!!!!!! Oh and did you know 80% of the USA are Christians??? So you are pretty much outvoted on...anything!!! Oh and 'cry like babies'? The whole question is about YOU crying to the Christians for putting prayer in school. You hypocrite don't offend the Christians. And especially DONT OFFEND GOD! But that's already done so if I were you I'd pray my soul out to God and beg his forgivness but I have a feeling you won't even finish reading this question. But whoever does, remember, GOD MADE US TO WORSHIP HIM NOT IDOLS!!!!! And with that I leave this with
God Bless,

not all christians are like this. i am a christian and i believe that everyone have their own opinions and rights to do what they believe in. so if this is the case the christian kids should go to a christian school where everyone has the same views and opinions and those that are not christians should all go to one school where they also have their own opinions but trying to mix the two will definately cause a problem.

I don't believe that any religion should be "pushed" on children in school or anywhere else. I do think that if kids want to pray or study the Bible in school, they should be able to do so without being persecuted. The praying and Bible study should be optional, a choice for each student. Isn't that the way it already is? Likewise, if any child chooses to express himself through his religion, whatever that religion might be, in school or anywhere else, he should be allowed to do so, as long as he is not disrupting learning for the other children.

Funny though Islam is taught in schools. As is the Jewish faith.
Buddhism is taught. As is Hindu. Taoist. And many others.
But make no mistake my friend, the backlash from Christians is going be gigantic. 40 years of liberal bull crap is enough.
