I would imagine it would just irritate your eye causing it to get red and watery. How badly depends on how much gets in it to begin with and how your body responds to it. If it contains something you are allergic to- it would make it worse than if you weren't allergic at all.

because it is food color it is safe for stomach and mouth. stomach and mouth has acidic juices so food color also could be acidic in nature. The tears the excretion from eyes must be basic or caustic properties as it can dissolve any particle that enters the eyes Why take chances with your eye sight? But if you are truely curious, call up an eye doctor and ask. Say you are a student and want learn. Better safe than sorry

I doubt that it is very harmful. Just flush your eyes with water. There may be minor irritation, but not serious damage.

food colering is nothing less than oils so all it would do is slime your eye maby itch a little
