We're not upset at what you say so much as the fact that you come into the religion/spiritual section for the sole purpose of insulting our beliefs. You don't believe in any God, you don't think you have a spirit or soul, so you have no reason to be in this section. Can't be spiritual without a spirit. The wiccans, pagans, buddists, hindu's, Jews, muslims and chrisians belong here because we have spirits, you say you do't so you don't belong here. This section isn't a debate board, or an insult board, its a question/answer board for people with legitimate questions and answers, not the ridiculous and common "there is no god" that you guys keep on saying. Is there a point to it besides just showing what idiots people can be? I don't go into the craft section saying I don't believe in crafts, so please, go find yourself a message board, but this isn't it. I realize message boards are more challenging than your simple "there is no god", therefore they would expect some common sense and logical responses which I'm guessing you're not really equipped with, but it would be a more reasonable and logical waste of your time that stating the same stupid thing over and over.

True Christians would be sure that there is a God, the only justification of a Christian getting upset, is because people who say there is no God are 'ignorant of the truth', and thus doomed unless they can be saved.

I am not convinced that Christians secure in their faith, would be upset by the 'ignorance' of the less fortunate.

When I debate my agnostic views with Christians, I tend to call 'whatever enables things to be' 'God'. But it becomes clear that that I do not accept the God of their belief, they get frustrated trying to convert me, rather than upset.

Did you ever see that episode of "Friends" where Pheobe kept telling Ross that fossils weren't real (or was it gravity?) and Ross kept being irrationally pissed off because his braind couldn't comprehend that someone could believe that? I think it's kind of like that.

I personally don't bother getting upset. If someone wants to have a discussion on the topic, I'm all for that, but I'm not going to lose sleep at night over the fact that there are people out there who say God does not or cannot exist. (I'll leave that up to them and God! LOL)

I am Christian and I don't get offennded when someone says there is no God. I believe other wise, and that's that. We all have different beliefs. Luckily we live in a country that allows such a thing. (btw, whoever used the example of Gallileo, i find that a bad example considering the fact it wasn't exactly the church that imprisoned him, but the government leaders at that time period.)

The spirit of a Christian rejoices when a person witness for God, but, when another person denounces God, he feels great sorrow in his spirit, and it's frustrating when there is nothing that can be said to convince them. Why can't people that don't believe, just simply say "I just don't believe in God"?, but no, they are the ones who get upset, and all because a person was trying to help them.

When someone shows a strong distaste in something that you believe very strongly in, it tends to make people angry. It's like if someone were to walk up to you and say, "Hey, you have three eyes." To a Christian, their ways are completely fact- it's more than just a belief to them, to them it's the full TRUTH. And to Wiccans their belief is the full truth, and a Muslim thinks their belief is the full truth, etc.

Point is- They love their god and they cherish him, and to tell someone that something they love is not true hurts them. It'd be the same as you telling someone that there is no purpose in the love they give to the person they're married to.

I am Christian and I do not get "upset." I believe that you have the right to believe in anything or anyone you want. I feel we all have the right to worship how, why or what we may. But ask in return that you allow me the same privilege.

This one made me smile, Julia... it doesn't upset me at all. Noone is asking anyone else to believe what they do... the question here is 'why do you keep asking questions to try to wind up people with other beliefs than you?' It seems to wind you up more, the fact that people actually believe in God - surely thats their problem!
