Of course you will!!! If you exercise daily, and watch what you eat, you will lose the weight and tone your body. Crunches are good, but don't stop there. Take a walk everyday. Walking is good exercise and you can do it for longer periods of time than you can run. Walk around your local mall for exercise. Eat lots of raw fruits and veggies. Eating the raw ones burns calories because they are harder to digest, and speeds your metabolism. And don't expect any overnight miracles. Losing weight and getting in shape take time. It took me two years but I lost nearly 100 pounds. Good luck! :)

It doesn't matter how many crunches you do you will not get a flat stomach without doing cardio. You need to build muscle as well as burn fat. Start by doing cardio 3 times a week trying to get to 30 mins each day. Also, do weightlifting on the days you aren't doing cardio. Eating a balanced diet is also key to getting that flat tummy. Changes won't happen over night but if you work hard and are committed to it, you will see results. See a nutritionist or get a personal trainer to help. Good luck!!

that thing about you needing 12 to 16% body fat to show abs is an internet myth. though it is true they won't show if you have a lot of fat.
body builders don't bulk up overnight.
like wise you should start crunches now along with cardio. they may not show at first but they will still develop. that way you'll have a head start on em when you do loose weight.

Crunches would have the opposite effect. While the muscle will build, it will push the fat up to the front, making you appear bigger in the tummy area.

Lost the fat first, then condition your entire body.

i would probably start with some cardio instead - it will burn the fat better than cruches would.
that way when you get ab muscles you will be able to see them since they wont be so hidden under fat.
