It's funny how God reflected the cultural values and mores of the Israelites. What a convenient coincidence that is.

God is not against anyone, good or bad, for what ever reason. The events in the Bible occurred in a very patriarchal culture. Men took the lead, women were very much second class citizens. The Bible was written by men who reflect male values. Think of it this way Jews are Arabs, culturally and ethnically. The Muslim and Jewish history and cultures were once one in the same, they developed apparently from two brothers who went their separate ways. So, the values seen in Arabic cultures today would probably be quite similar to the way society was at the time of the Bible.

That depends upon your definition of "women's rights". If you mean that somehow women and men exist at the same hierarchical level in God's eyes, that is not correct.

But don't get caught up in that. Just as the President of the U.S. exists at a different hierarchy than I do, he is still a human being, as I am.

The bible states that a woman is to be submissive to the man. This is clearly taught in the law, which here probably means the Pentateuch primarily. Gen_3:16, for instance, says “your desire shall be for your husband. And he shall rule over you.” Yet this does not mean women are somehow a second class of humankind.

We all have roles in life. Christ the Son, the Second Person of the Trinitarian God, accepted His functional role as secondary to God the Father. But nowhere did Christ give up his ontological role as being fully God the Son. Likewise, men and women have roles defined by God in this life, but nowhere is God expecting us to give up our common humanity.

God was not against women's rights, read your Bible women were judges like Deborah, Esther was a queen who saved her people, the midwives of Moses time were rewarded for allowing the Hebrew babies to live after they were told to kill the boys, Mary was entrusted to bring the Savior in world and was called a blessed woman, God even told men to honor women. So I think you should read the Bible before you make silly comments

He wasn't...the bible was written toward a time and a culture. It wasn't about being sexiest. If the bible was rewritten to fit today's culture it wouldn't limit women to cleaning house and raising kids but it would preach responsibility. If your a stay at home mom then yes it is your job to take care of the kids and the house...if you work then it's you and your husbands job to both provide for the family and take care of the kids and the home? Make since?

God is not against women's rights. Jesus Christ associated with women all the time...something that in His day was absolutely unheard of! Women then were thought of by society as being no better than cattle, and when Jesus came, he spoke to them as equal heirs to His Kingdom, and Mary Magdalene was one of his apostles! Also, WOMEN were the first people Jesus chose to reveal Himself to once he was resurrected!

you presently every time some one says that God helps killing and slavery they dont undergo in strategies that strengthen into in the previous testomony. while Jesus got here he did away with the regulation. yet in Romans iit nonetheless says that being gay is a sin. So examine the hollow element earlier you get so disillusioned. God Bless You. God loves you.

There were very narrowly defined roles for both men and women back then. If God existed, then he was against rights in general, not just women's rights.
