did they simply cut their hair into a blunt bob or was their some layering trick they used in the 20's? I've tried googling it but so far i haven't found much so i was gonna see if any had any knowledge on how they bobbed their hair in the 20's. thanks!

they got a bobbed haircut then put big clamp things in their hair while it dried. the really deep waves were marcelled, set in with hot curling tongs. I don't think you can find these things outside of a museum.

I found this site when I Googled your question - if you're serious about wanting to style your hair like this, the modest fee being charged for the instructions shouldn't be a problem:

you want to put some gel in in when its damp, then comb it (the part you want finger curled) into an s shape and hold it that way with pins until it air dries.
And it was just a normal bob by the way.
