God was created by us. He resides in the human imagination.

Actually, only events have a cause.
Premise: Every event has a cause
Premise: The universe has a beginning
Premise: All beginnings involve an event
Inference: This implies that the beginning of the universe involved an event
Inference: Therefore the beginning of the universe had a cause
Conclusion: The universe had a cause
For something to have caused the universe it must have existed outside of the universe and time. That First Cause could only have been an omnipotent supernatural agent, God.
More formally, your question is related to Aseity (Self-Existence).
Most classical theists see God’s Aseity or Pure Existence as a key attribute. The early Church Fathers, as well as Augustine (354-430), Anselm (1033- 1109), and Aquinas, continually cite the Bible in support of this position. In defending God’s self-existence (aseity) classical theists such as Aquinas are fond of citing Exodus 3:14 where God identifies himself to Moses as “I Am that I Am.” This they understand to refer to God as Pure Being or Existence.
God is Pure Actuality, with no potentiality in his being whatsoever. Whatever has potentiality (potency) needs to be actualized or effected by another. And since God is the ultimate Cause, there is nothing beyond him to actualize any potential (i.e., ability) he may have. Nor can God actualize his own potential to exist, since this would mean he caused his own existence. But a self-caused being is impossible, since it cannot create itself. Something has to exist before it can do anything. Even God cannot lift himself into being by his own ontological bootstraps. Thus, God must be Pure Actuality in his Being.
Of course, God has the potential to create other things. But he cannot bring himself into being. He always was. And while God has the potential to do other things, he cannot be anything other than what he is. He has the power to create other things (active potency), but he does not have the power (passive potency) to exist in any other way than he does, namely, as an infinite, eternal, necessary, and simple Being.
God’s aseity means that he is Being; everything else merely has being. God is Pure Actuality; all other things have both actuality and potentiality. Thus, God cannot not exist. All creatures can be nonexistent. That is, they have the potentiality for nonexistence. Only God is a Necessary Being. All other beings are contingent.

No, God was not created. Who or what could have possibly created Him? He is the Creator, not the created.
Your reasoning confuses me. When I see I building, a skyscraper or something, I know there was a builder who made it. To think it just randomly appeared is ludicrous.
If everything was created, there must have been something that started it, something that existed before all else, and that was God.

you're logic leads to a loop. If things don't need to be created, then God is free to exist- but not allowed to create anything. If things need to be created, God can't exist, except for help from a super God- that also needs a creator- thus nothing can exist and yet it does.

God is Creator. God was not created, that does not apply to Him. He has been here always. It is a mystery. Like trying to figure out the last number.

That's a good question. I kinda of think of that which we call "God" as some sort of energy that existed as just energy for some time, that developed a consciousness, an awareness of it's self, and it's existence. Once it became aware of itself, and developed a consciousness, it began to ask questions such as "Who am I?" and "What am I? " much the same as we do. This energy then proceeded to commence creating, in an effort to try to figure out what or who it is. I guess if you look at it that way, "God" created itself, in a sense. This is a substantial energy that still seeks to answer the questions above, and continues to create, in it's quest for an answer. We send answers back to "God" as extensions of this energy. How do ya like that? :) There is alot of emphasis in the Bible of "I AM". One of the great philosophers said "I think, therefore, I am"... meaning (to me) that one is the sum total of one's thoughts, and in being aware of one's thoughts, one is aware that he or she exists. I think the the energy that became "God" to us, had a similar revelation, before commencing to create.

God existed before He created the heavens and the earth.
God told Moses his name YHWH which means "I shall be that I shall be". The covenant between God and Israel and Israel's descendants clearly states that God is one. There is no other God.
Was God created? According to his prophets, no.
