Because EVERY other person had turned from God and gone their own way in disobedience. Only Noah and his family lived to please God. Did you know that the "ark" today is Jesus? Every person who turns from sin and receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior can get in the "ark" and be saved from eternal punishment apart from God? He so desperately wants to save mankind that He gave His only Son to pay the penalty for our sins. All we have to do is repent and receive that gift. He's waiting....

Noah Preached the Word of God many many years, and like today it was REJECTED. As the earth was destroyed by the Flood then, this time there will be Fire. I could give you a Bible lesson from the Word of God, however IF you know where to read about Noah and what happened I would suggest that you go back and read it again, (if you have read it the first time), slowly, and you will see what I have said is true. Do NOT take my word for it as I mean nothing to anyone and am not even worthy to call on God, BUT take Gods Word for it as He IS the Author and Composer of the Word from Genesis to Revelation.

Noah and his family were the only believers at that time , while building the ark , Noah preached the Word of God and spoke of the coming end .The world was as bad as it is today . He was mocked and they thought he was nuts, until it started raining .

Everyone had a chance to get on the ark. Noah was sent to preach repentance to the people, he told them about the flood, and they mocked him and didn't listen or believe him. God gave everyone at that time a chance, they had plenty of chances to repent and be forgiven and get on the ark - they chose not to.
Think of it from a parent's standpoint. You would give your child chance after chance to say he is sorry for something, but if he still kept doing it over and over, you would finally take away privileges. You can't let a kid keep dumping his toys on the floor and not picking them up til he's 35 years old! Eventually, he has to be accountable for his actions. The people in Noah's time finally ran out of time and chances.

They didn't ask for forgiveness even though the preacher (Noah) was warning them of God's wrath.
Jesus said "just as in the days of Noah so will the coming of the Son of Man be". The preachers are warning of the wrath of God but few choose to hear.
When God pulls His believers to safety it will be too late for the rest of the world.

The other people wouldn't listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit. They always resisted the Holy Spirit.
Noah listen to the LORD God, so found grace in the eyes of God. Noah's name means 'grace'.
