The exit rows have 4 inches more leg room and it is very noticeable. You must agree to be physically able to open the emergency door if you sit there. The Aisle has many advantages. Leg room, safety, freedom to get up, you are not restricted by other people when the plane is at the destination gate and you have a connection to make.

Depends. My prefered seat is usually any isle seat that is three or four rows FORWARD of the toilet. For one, if you have to go, it is nearby. The few seats forward gives a buffer zone so the hoverers waiting for the toilet aren't leaning over you, and you don't have to look at their zombie eyed stares while they wait in line. It can be annoying to have the window seaters ask you to move so they can go, but I look at it positively , especially on long flights. It reminds me to get up and move about a little so my legs don't cramp up, and i usually take the oppertunity to go wether I have to or not, just because I want to not have to go right before landing. Many people wait until the last minute, then lose out when the "fasten seat belt" sign comes on and they have to hold it.

Well after you take off there's really nothing to look at,so do you want to have to squeeze pass other people to get to the isle? Or on the other hand if you get the isle seat your the one everyone going to have get around. Depends on how you look at it.

As close to the emergency exit as they will let me sit!
More leg room and I know how to open the door and have a hieghtened sense of self preservation.
No thanks on the window seat.
In a crash you have a max of 30 seonds to clear the aircraft or you die. Simple fact most travellers are blissfully unaware of. So I get picky about who is in the exit row to open the hatch.

In a crash it's better to be on the aisle for easier exit. If you're interested in watching the view during take off and landing a window seat is a must.

In the aisle you can get up easier and the window you have something to lean against to sleep. But, if your someone like me, who gets up every 15 minutes to use the lavatory, but loves the view the best place is the exit row, or the bulkhead.

If you're one of those people who have to get up to visit the lav every fifteen minutes, then by all means, take a seat on the aisle. If you just want to sleep undisturbed for the whole flight, then get a window seat.

When I have to ride in the back, I prefer a window seat. I like to look outside on takeoff and landing but I really like it so I can lean my head over and go to sleep. Nothing more embarrassing than having your head keep falling forward when you can't lean it up against something.

The best seat in the house is next to the window in an emergency-exit row.

This is a joke, so don't thumb-down or report me;
From my brother in law who was in the USAF 20+ years, my mom asked him where the safest seat in the plane was, and he said, very straight-faced "In the restroom, they bolt those in there pretty tight"
