Why did God Intelligent Design single celled organisms?

You mean things like Ebola, and other such nasty disease causing single celled organisms? Maybe because there isn't a god at all, and the concept of intelligent design is deeply flawed. It all seems based on the idea that life is so complex, that something more complex must have made it. Take that argument to it's logical conclusion and you have to then ask who designed the designer?

Dude, I can't stand book-burning Creationists but single-celled organisms rule this planet. Apart from being the base of the food chain, most of the oxygen you breathe comes not from trees but from single-celled marine organisms. They are also a very major component of the global carbon cycle, ie. climate, and other nutrient cycles.

I'm more curious as to why he would 'intelligent design' a sentient being who can choke on its own food (digestive and repiratory tracts crossing - that's hardly intelligent), and whose pelvis is too small to comfortably accomodate the enlarged cranium of their kids.

They have a lot of purposes. Some people even consider them more important for life to continue on earth than larger creatures. They're also very complex, even though they have only that one cell, it does much more than any one of our cells.

THOUGHT:
This world is not our destination; it is our journey! There are
many things here that can distract us from our goal and destroy our
desire to complete our journey. These sinful desires actually are
at war with us. But through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can
say "NO!" and live with confidence and character before our world
that is trapped in darkness and so desperately needs God's light.

PRAYER:
Forgive me, holy God, for my failure with sin. Empower me,
almighty God, so that I may grow ever closer to your character and
holiness. Help me, loving God, to live a holy life that is
attractive to my friends, family, and neighbors, so they may come
to glorify you by living your life, too. In Jesus' name I pray.
