I need to know if it is allowed to eat anything before you take Communion? And if so what is acceptable or how long before and after you take the body of Christ?

About an hour before, not after.

One is supposed to fast an hour before receiving Communion. Given the fact that Communion happens at the end of a service that lasts about an hour, almost everyone fasts properly by default.

There is not required fasting after Communion. However, if you choose to fast on your own accord, nothing wrong with that.

In the Latin rite ( Roman Catholic) Church, the COmmunion fast is ONE HOUR before RECEIVING the Eucharist- which happens about 30-40 minutes after the start of Mass.

If you figure travel time, as long as you aren't scarfing down a McGriddle in the parking lot, you should be fine.

The one hour fast is waived for the elderly, the infirm, and those who care for them.

You can eat an hour or longer before Mass. You have to wait at least one hour after eating to receive Communion.

Canon Law 919 states:

A person who is to receive the Most Holy Eucharist is to abstain for at least one hour before holy communion from any food and drink, except for only water and medicine.

With love in Christ.

You are allowed to eat one hour prior to receiving the Eucharist.

If your church service begins at 8 a.m., but the Eucharist isn't offered until 9 a.m. you are able to hurry up and eat that doughnut calling you at 8 a.m., okay?

You can eat a hearty breakfast (like most of us do!) right after Mass, no restrictions.

There are dispensations that are given to diabetics, pregnant women, men who work as laborers etc that is issued by the priest...just common sense.

You can eat something no later than one hour before communion. There is no prescribed food.

Health permitting, you should fast for one hour before receiving Communion.

God bless.
