There's no perfect religion. Trust me. If you really do feel that Wicca is right for you, then perform a self dedication ceremony (you're too young to join a coven).

However I will warn you that being Wiccan is not easy. First, you have to deal with Christians who hate Wiccans, Wiccans who hate Christians (ie Silver Ravenwolf), salespeople who try to convince you that you need five thousand altar tools to truly be Wiccan, fluffies who watch too much Charmed, crazies who claim that Wicca is thousands of years old (60 years is more accurate) ... the social aspect of it is hard. However if it's truly the right religion for you, it shouldn't matter.

Here are some good (legitimate) links:

Wicca for the rest of us is a really good site dedicated to the prevention of newbie corruption. It's practical, loaded with info, and easy to navigate: http://wicca.timerift.net/

wikipedia also has a very good nonbiased bit of information about Wicca http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca

although this site has good info, you should be wary of some of it. Don't take everything you read here as truth: http://www.witchvox.com/

OK....

Athiest means you don't believe in God. Sounds like your parents are either Agnostic, or non-demoninational.

As for Wicca, its very peaceful but quite a bit out there! The religion was started in the 1950's and kinda modeled after ancient druid culture. You worship nature, choose your own gods/goddesses...some even think they can cast spells (peaceful spells).

It always struck me as a silly religion, but I guess no more silly than the others.

Atheist means that you don't believe in God. Your parents are agnostic. They believe in God but not in church or organized religion. Wicca was begun in the 1950s by a guy who wrote what was supposed to be a fiction book. Some people took it literally and began a religion based on it.

Organized religion tries to shove the universe into a wee tidy box that they may claim to know it all and rationalize everything to their way of thinking. If the truth does not fit, then it must not be truth.

“Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear.” ~Thomas Jefferson

If you are going to devote your entire life and being to something, does it not behoove you to make certain of its validity?

The one-size-fits-all mentality of religions who demand that everyone think and feel alike, in spite of our own individual needs, they deny their own humanity and try to call it holiness. They try to get everyone else to deny theirs using shame and fear. It denies individualism and teaches a fear of soul-searching honesty. Where is the love in that??? Where is truth??

In all the universe, there is no evidence of anything being absolute, therefore how can there be an all-inclusive, absolute way for everyone? Mechanically chanting five Hail Mary's might do something for some people, but it does nothing for me, so why waste my time?

my beliefs have a Toaist bent in that all the universe is a collective part of divinity. Throughout history, it was easier to understand and relate if it was ascribed to a human-like persona.

But to me, it is not a matter of worshiping a person-type, but rather, harmonizing with the flow of nature and the elements and aspects that govern nature and the universe. We embody these aspects of nature into a personal form for the ease of focusing on them more efficiently

i am not sure about Wicca, but it is good that your parents are letting you choose. many do not have that right. i have heard that Buddhism is rather peaceful, but i do not know much about wicca, so i cannot say.

also, to aashiq:

agnosticism does not state a beleif in god. it means that one does not know whether there is a god or not.

They're Deists, not atheists.

It's up to you what you believe in. Look around, read up on the various beliefs and non-beliefs out there and decide whcih one's for you.

In all major religions, the followers strive to rid themselves of sin through various practices. They may pray in a prescribed way, do various good works, deny themselves legitimate sexual pleasure, follow dietary restrictions, lie on beds of nails, etc. The uniqueness of Jesus is shown in His statement, "The Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins." No other religious leader has ever made this claim. Jesus Christ alone can wash away every sin anyone has ever committed, be-cause of what He did on the cross. By paying the penalty for our sin, He can release us from the torture of guilt. We cannot do anything in the way of religious works to wash away our sins. Forgiveness is a free gift of God (Ephesians 2:8,9).

If your parents are atheist they DO NOT believe in God. Atheism means believing there is NO God.

Wiccan is worshipping the creation that God has made. God alone is deserving of worship.

You should seek out the True God of the Bible and worship the God of the universe who created all, Jesus.
