First, ask yourself if you truly believe in what that cult is doing. If you do, have fun. If not, let your parents know that you respect thier beliefs, but that you'd like to further study other avenues and make a more educated decision about something so important in your life.

Be patience.

Honor your father and mother, not do or believe everything they tell you.

When you are an adult and financially independent, you can do as you like. But if you live in their house (your home), be kind.

I assure you this will not be the first nor the last cult that wants to convert you.

Technically all religions are cults. Saying religious cult is being redundant.

Now onto the real question at hand... tell them firmly you don't want to be a part of it. They of all people should know that religion is a choice and that you shouldn't give in to external pressure from people of another religion.

Seek, the one and only true God of the bible. Trust Him. Obey your parents but do not take part in the cult ceremonies. The truth will set you free says the bible, maybe they will be converted to truth trough your witness.

My faith teaches you have to respect your parents always, but not follow any faith other than to worship the one God. So you would respect your parents, and do your best to do as they say in everything, unless it violates your beliefs. Even go with them to there services if they ask, because you are a child. But know in your heart what is right, and follow it. If you don't believe, don't say the prayers as they do but always be respectful to them.

But the question is, what DO you believe. If you have no faith of your own, you have a responsibility to explore their faith with an open mind, as you also explore other faith's until you find a way to connect with God.

That's a tough one. Because I know they are your parents and you respect them, but go with your gut feeling if their church/sect/group is really a cult and will do your entire family harm. I say don't join.

Commit the unforgiveable sin in front of them, then tell them you're screwed anyway so there's no point trying to convert you (also works with annoying people who knock on your door and try to convert you).
