Which Jesus are you referring to? There are many people in Mexico named Jesus and possibility is that one of them is the one that you were told about.
However, if you are referring to "Jesus Christ of Nazareth", then I am glad to tell you that He's alive and He lives today and forevermore, not only in Mexico but everywhere! within the hearts of those who love Him and receive Him as personal Lord and Savior.

Why would you say he is in Mexico? To answer the question yes he is alive. After Christ rose from the tomb and finished his work on Earth he ascended into heaven where he is now, and until he decides to come again.

Jesus is a common name in Mexico. Accept it is pronounced a little differently. So if someone says they have seen Jesus in Mexico my question would be just one?

Is Jesus dead? Your question might more appropriately be was he ever alive, as there is no historical reference to prove that he was.
If I assume that someone named Jesus actually lived 2000 years ago there is no question like everyone else from 2000 years ago he is definitely dead.

he is alive , but Jesus was not killed, but that rather, God raised His beloved prophet up to Him.
