It is Very Unlikely you Have Any Myocardial Ischemia At your Age, but Not Impossible, Not Having Examined you I Cannot Be Totally Sure, but Probably Costochondritis. The Desciption Of your Pain Above Suggests It isn't a MI, but to put your Mind At Ease, you Might Want to Have it Checked Out, BTW, See Levine's Sign.

Sounds to me like you hand a few bones out of alignment, which could have been pinching a nerve and causing your pain. This would explain why it went away after you hear a cracking noise, that was probably you bones popping back into place. however, this is based on a short paragraph. Something like this you should see a doctor immediately for just to rule out something more serious with your heart or lungs. Even though you are 21, stabbing chest pain that is enough to wake you up in the middle of the night should be taken seriously.

The best way you could test for a pulled muscle would be to see if the pain increases when you put your arms above your head or rotate them backwards whilst experiencing the pain. If it does seem to be a minor injury it should go away within the next week, possibly a little longer. If it began suddenly I wouldn't diagnose any serious diseases like fibrosis or emphysema that you might be presented with if you type 'smoker chest pains' into google- so don't worry too much about that. As with any symptoms, if they persist go to your GP who can diagnose you in person. And don't listen to the person above me, I'm a junior doctor working in A&E and I know that any medical professional would not prescribe painkillers on line like that. Especially Tramadol due to the serious side effects it can have.

Sounds like you had a rib or two out of alignment or the spine, both of which can cause what is known as referred pain! Best you go see a doctor and have an xray so you don't further hurt yourself. And, even at 21, if it is something worse like your heart it would be a wise idea.

Whenever you have any type of chest pain, you should go to the emergency room immediately. Even though the pain has gone away, don't ignore the fact that it occured. See a doctor.

It's better to pay a doctor than to take free advice from a forum composed of at least 75% lunkheads. Don't gamble with your life. Get checked out.

im no medical expert so dont take my word but you could have cracked a rib. The dislodged feeling may be your rib, that could also explain the pain.

Most likely, it is because of your work out program.
But it is a good idea to see your doctor right away, to rule out any possible injuries.
