Say thank you! They are your parents and are doing the shower for you because they love you.
If you want, invite them over for dinner, a movie, etc. Your time spent with them is more valuable than anything you can buy.

this one is simple. You send her an extremely well thought out note on a nice card, maybe a picture of you ans the baby, and speak from the heart, because she will know. This is a situation where you don't need any money, you just have to express your feelings of gratitude in a way that she knows it truly comes from the depths of your sole. Sometimes in life, people do things for us that are so wonderful all we can do is say "Thank-you", you're a Mom now and you'll understand more as time goes buy. Good luck with your new born.

Of course say thank you infront of everyone at the shower. Express to her how everything shes done for you over the years has instilled in you how to be a good mom and you know you can go to her for anything you may need along the way and all that good stuff.
Write a letter to both your parents expressing that is another good way.
Card or grandparent scrap book can be made or bought cheaply that will mean alot to them also!

A heart felt thank you letter. I would frame a picture of the ultrasound and a baby shower invitation. I would make it special by using scrapbook items. You can get a cheap frame for a couple of dollars. I would present this to her at the baby shower and tell everyone what a great Mom you are blessed with!!!!!!!!!!

Tell her what it meant to you!!! A card or a collage of pics of the day will be great. Maybe have her over for a nice meal. Remember-your folks are excited about the new arrival and being grandparents, I kept thanking my parent's for everything they did and my mom said she did it because she wanted to not for any thanks. And after my son was born I got my dad a coffee mug with my son's pic on it and got my mom a little charm with my son's birthstone. They loved the first official grandparent gifts!

Say two simple words, Thank You. If you feel the need to do something more write tham a huge thanks and tell them how much you appreciate it. They dont expect a gift in return and if they know you have little money then i am sure the understand even more. congrats on the baby by the way

I would just write a heartfelt thank you - touching on how they've touched your life as your parents....
I've found (with my parents) that they don't want me to spend money on them - they want me to spend it on the needs for my family. I've dealt with your same situation - who has $$ when they're getting ready for baby?!?
A good note telling of your admiration & love for your parents and how you're going to carry that down to your child will make your parents the most proud and happy parents in the world! When my kids get older - I'd rather get a note/letter than a dinner! :)
Congratulations on your baby!!
