I live in an apt complex and across the hall is a man and a woman. Well, the problem is, every few days, I hear what appears to sound like vomiting. To me, this isn't normal. I've gone through several ideas in my mind, why this could be happening such as, maybe he has an eating disorder, or maybe he has a disease, or maybe the medication he's on makes him sick??? Also, maybe he drinks himself sick? I don't know. Everytime I hear this, I always have to turn music on because it makes me sick to my stomach to hear him. THIS IS NOT NORMAL!!!

I know this may not be my business as to what is really going on, but at the same time, I feel it IS my business because this is distracting to me and it makes me feel sick!!! Do you think I should talk to the Landlord about this, knock on my neighbor's door, or ignore this??

Thank you!!!

you are right it isn't your business
if it bothers you so much though ask one of them when you see them if they are feeling okay

If you wanted to, you could probably transfer apartments in your community. It may be a big hassle and will cost you some money, but that would make me want to move! Maybe the landlord will have pity on you and cut you a break.

Of course if you feel up to it you could ask your neighbor what's wrong but if it's something that can't be helped, it will probably make him feel really bad and not actually accomplish anything. All you can do to get out of the situation is move and hope your next neighbors are better! Good luck, and sorry you are dealing with that!!

It is none of your business. If this man is sick you will make him feel worse about his condition. Ignore it, you’ll end up not hearing it anyways. Do your thing, mind your own stuff. I know how annoying it can be to live amongst close neighbours, but I’m sure they hear you do things too. Turn this situation in a positive one, hurry and save money to get yourself a house....

Perhaps it's the woman who has the eating disorder? Next time you see him ask if his wife is feeling better. If he asks why, say you heard some vomiting the other day and you want to know if she is feeling better. I don't really think it's the land lord's problem.

She also may be pregnant...totally normal for pregnant women to puke.

This is a tricky one. Your right it isn't any of your business and if it is an eating disorder they will deny and tell you the same. It is just one of those things you will have t try and put out of your mind. The best thing to do is just pray for them and hope it isn't anything serious,

I'd move. If the apartments are so poorly insulated that you can hear their bathroom habits, imagine what would happen in a fire.

i was able to break my lease over this. i could here umm.... whenever my neighbor went to the bathroom. they live above me, and it sickened me. i dont even like public bathrooms. i consider my home ot be the one place i have to be sheilded from everyone else and their habits. good luck. i wouldnt worry about your neighbor, but see if you can break your lease.
