If it's the teacher, then he's probably only lending you the book so you can follow along with the rest of the class. Then again, he may "like" like you.

Just because he lent you something doesn't mean he likes you; maybe he just felt bad for you because you didn't have a book. If you lent someone something once, would you want them to assume that you liked them? Probably not... This guy is probably just a nice guy.
