I depends. If it is biodegradable, then bury it. If not then burn, and mix it with the ashes of the constitution that Bush burnt some time ago. Use the mixture of ashes as fertiliser in a poor country, to help people feed themselves. That way the amercan flag would at least do some small amount of good in the world.

Call the Boy Scouts or the American Legion Post. They will have a special flag-burning ceremony in the proper way. And they'll be more than happy to do this, usually just wanting a small donation so the flag can be disposed of properly.

) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
If you are not allowed to burn the american flag because of zoning laws, try contacting your local VFW, they often will dispose of your taterd American Flag for free.

To properly dispose of the American Flag, you are to burn it. It is a show of respect. It is to be folded in a triangle (like the military does it) and is to be burned silently. Do not make a big deal of it.

It is a piece of cloth, nothing more. Giving it any more respect than that puts you in danger of violating the 2nd commandment of God which states, "You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion." The flag falls under the category of "a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth", so to treat it as anything but a piece of cloth is in violation of this commandment!
