I wouldn't alarm yourself too much..
Anxiety can be the cause of this as well as more serious disorders such as bi-polar.
You see when you suffer anxiety there's an underlying negative thought pattern there all the time..it creeps up on you..especially when things are going well you almost Expect to fail.. sometime when an anxious person is doing well, they almost self sabotage subconsciously..they fear success.

These negative thought patterns can be re-arranged by cognitive therapy from a clinical pyscologist.

I'm not a psych but I would say you are like me:Bi-polar. And actually if these changes of mind come on quick and frequently you could have cyclothymia...just bi-polar but faster mood swings. Sometimes I think that I'm worthless and then I will start thinking that I can help everyone and make a huge difference. That is not rational. I can help people every day but not save the world. If you feel you might have a problem, or if these "thoughts" are bothering you, it might be wise to see your doctor. Tell him how you are feeling, get a general checkup. Your doc can refer you to a mental health pro if he thinks you need it.

You may just have an active mind. My mind tends to start spinning when I lay down to go to sleep at night.

You have an active mind. You sound very concerned over nothing to very important matters. Its normal to have wild and crazy thoughts, ideas, and fantasies inundate the mind. some people just have a more active mind. It`s NORMAL.. ADD comes to mind.

if you desire to change certain things then by all means, change them. but to those which you cant change ... accept it and your hopeless/depressed thoughts will soon go away.
