Puppy food and dry. No dog will starve if they have food available. You're setting her up for a lifetime of obesity and teeth rotting out of her mouth.

You definitely need to fix this ASAP because food aggression can be very dangerous. Try feeding her the whole entire meal, piece by piece, during every meal time, by hand. It may take a while, but it will be worth it. She will learn to see your hands near her food as a positive experience because right now she thinks your hands mean that her food will be taken away. You need to show her your hands are giving the food. Good luck!

You are creating a monster. For the next 12-14 years, you are going to be held captive by your dog. You won't be able to leave her at a kennel, so you'll have to have someone puppy sit if you travel; you will need to figure out what nutritional additives (vitamins and minerals) to include in her food; you won't comfortably be able to take her to friends' homes. She will become fussy in all matters. Start her on quality canned food. I use Chicken Soup for the Dogs Lover's Soul. It is so high quality, I wouldn't mind eating it. After a few weeks, introduce some quality dry food, such as Innova or California Natural. Once you are confidant that the food is healthy and delicious, you will be able to ignore her pleadings. Good luck.

Try some good dog food not the cheap crappy stuff. Purina is good. If you table feed your dog then they tend to be alot pickier about eating and begging isn't the best manners to teach your dog. Table food isn't exactly the healthiest because it doesn't necessarily have all the nutrients your dog needs and may cause obesity or bad breath and tooth decay.
If you always give in then yea she'll turn her nose up to dog food but she'll eat it eventually when she gets hungry enough and it really isn't that bad if it's a good brand. Don't change brands too often either. You can give her different treats every now and then like doggy treats or bones and stuff that would satisfy her begging.

I see that your dog has you well trained. I give her my congratulations. Now, it's time for you to train her. All dogs watch humans eat with those sad, begging eyes. Don't give in. Your dog will not starve to death.
It doesn't matter how fussy you think a dog is. The dog will eat when it is hungry enough. You just have to re-train yourself not to let your little one become the leader of the pack in your house.

Try a healthy raw diet. She'll get so much more nutrition from raw food than she would from cooked foods.
There is another diet option other than dog food. Some people choose to feed a raw diet. This involves feeding the dog raw meaty bones and organ meat. However it is not as simple as throwing a couple chicken bones in a bowl everyday. If you wish to feed this type of diet, do lots and lots of research first. Switching to this diet without knowing what your doing can lead to nutritional problems for your dog. I'll give you some links as a starting point in research if you are interested in this type of diet.

it is okay but you have to do it right or you will do as serious harm as feeding the bad food
here is a recipe for food
http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/healthy_diet.htm
and cooking food causing vitamins to be destroy also not complete for a dog so here is another page that discusses what supplements and how much to give, it was produced by a very highly regarded vet who also studied animal nutrition

You are creating a major problem by giving her only people food. During this pet food crisis its probably best that you do that but dogs have definite nutritional needs that are different
from humans. Discuss it with your vet.

She is not getting the proper nutrients from people food. Try feeding her a smaller bite food and mix plain yogurt in it or you can add a gravy product available in the pet food section of grocery stores and also pet food stores to increase her taste palet. Raw diet is also an option but I found it is really hard to do, I ended up spending more time and money on fixing dinner for 3 dogs than for my family. So if you do raw then really research it so you know what your getting in to.
