All Bran and Bran Flakes are actually incredibly good for you because they are very fribrous and help your digestive system. Eating whole grain cereals, such as Cheerios, Shredded Wheat, and Shreddies, or oaty cereals such as porridge or oatmeal, are also very good options because the wholegrain cereals include the whole of the grain (unsurprisingly) and therefore keep you filled up for longer, and oats are very low in cholesterol and fat, and also keep you filled up for longer.

Scotts porridge oats is delicious with maple syrup or blackberry & apple and the new Oatibix cereal is quite nice with these toppings as well. You don't have to necessarily pick a well known brand though, supermarket own versions are often just as healthy.
There's nothing wrong with All-bran and Bran-flakes although they do sometimes contain added sugar so make sure you read the back of the packet before buying them. All the same, they're still better than having something like Coco-Pops. Try mixing them together in a bowl with some oats and California raisins. It tastes great!

All-Bran and Bran-Flakes are okay for you!
Anyways, Cheerios are excellent. They are a toasted whole grain cereal. Other brands that are good are in the Health food section at your grocery store, they have wholegrain cereals that are REALLY healthy like Barbara's Bakery.
Look at the ingredients. Whole-grain, whole wheat, etc. should be the first ingredient.
The nutrition information should have no more than 9 grams of sugar. 9 grams is slightly more than 2 teaspoons.
Good luck choosing a healthy cereal!

Bran Flakes and All-Bran are better than Cheerios and such. The best thing is porridge (I do mine in the microwave and have fresh fruit with it) or Shredded Wheat or Weetabix

Ditto!. Lv Consul
Whole grain natural cereals with out added sugar, etc. etc. are best.
Just read labels and you will know.
Some natural food stores have natural grains to make cereals, but they can be expensive at times. Check them out.

There isn't any special ingredient in Special K or anything - it's just that it has fewer calories than many leading cereal brands. Just be careful - though it may be advertised as 'healthy', there's still a lot of sugar! Personally, I enjoy my Special K with Fruit & Yogurt every morning. ;)

none of those are really "healthy" they are all high processed. to determine how healthy a food item is simply look at the list of ingredients. truly healthy foods only contain one ingredient, that food item like whole oats. the longer the list of ingredients the more processed the food item is and the less nutritious it will be for the body.
for carbohydrates it pretty simple. if you put the food item in your mouth and it dissolves with little to no chewing it is not "good" for you.

i have oatmeal with a sweet yoghurt... it may sound strange but it's very delicious, and quite low-cal (especially if you buy a 0% fat yoghurt)
enjoy!
