Besides for winter holidays, we also have everyone in the family & extended family's birthdays plus there is usually some sort of bug floating through our home that keeps me from working out as much as I'd like to (either sick myself or, more likely, taking care of someone else who is sick) - so it's winter.

Same as you; I gain weight in the winter because it's too cold out to play sports and even at home, I feel too cold to get up and move (I know I'll be warmer if I do get up and exercise, but I'd rather lay in bed with a lot of blankets). It's also kind of dreary in the winter, so I don't even feel energetic enough to work out. And because I don't go out much in the winter, that leaves me more time to loaf around the house and do nothing but eat. Also, in the winter, I feel like I can hide any fat I have under my jacket, so I'm kind of nonchalant about my weight, and I think, "It's okay, I can stuff my face until spring."

I totally gain in the winter. :-( I'm like a bear- I go into hibernation mode. It's cold outside and I stay inside...not much else to do but be still.
I changed that this past winter and joined a gym. I've been working out constantly and by spring, I'll already have my bathing suit body ready to go for summer! -)

I'm actually more fit in the winter, I think because in the summer time I go for BBQ and things of that nature and I pay more attention in the winter
