In the New Testament we are warned judge not lest you be judged by the same token or in this case you could say same standard. Judgung people has been going on a long long time. Americans especially judge each other by mere instinct or habit if you will. No that does not make it right but still we do it all the time. As I look at those who judge I find that as some people judge others they use this as a tool to take the spotlight off of what they themselves are doing wrong. You can be holy but have a bad attitude or a bad spirit and still be wrong as the worst person in the world. Judging is not a good practice for Christians at all. There is only one judge and that is the Lord above. It is strange to me that as we judge and find fault in others and justify ourselves and our actions we tend to get further and further away from what Jesus said would be the determining factor as to whether we were His disciples. He said by this will all men know that you are my disciples that you have love one for another.... Therefore if we love if we would LOVE MORE we would likely JUDGE LESS.Hope this has helped you ..God bless

I have extensively studied the bible and the difference between legalistic application and the Law of the creator for LOVE. The laws of man do NOT 'make' one right or wrong. ALL true change is from the heart (not the blood-pumper). I have also read a lot from other 'spiritual' disciplines. The bottom line in them all is: treat others as you wish to be treated --- which is a great summary of all teachings.
NO ONE will truly be 'closer to the Lord' through brow-beating them. Guilt trips and fear-mongering are always counter-productive. ALL errors in conduct (to include murder, rape, theft, etc) result from EX-clusion, not being accepted as viable and worthy persons' in our own rights. Even sexual promiscuity is a search for love, although destructive alone.
What? Did I make too much sense?

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged....
The world often takes this verse out of context and uses it to accuse Christians of being "judgmental" when they speak of sin. In the context of the verse Jesus is telling His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

Not just a lot. ALL religious people are judgmental, for this is in the nature of religion. Religion is the result of trying to formalize truth in a set of rules. Next everything that deviates from those rules is judged "bad," and what's in accordance with those rules is judged "good." The essence of the Fall was learning good and bad, learning to judge, in other words..
I'm really wondering if Ryan was joking or if he's blinded. Feel free to tell me, buddy! I'm just curious...

Since when does pointing out mistakes and trying to help someone's life be better qualify as judging? And since when does disagreeing with someone's point of view equal judging that person?
I am all for being kind. But I am also all for speaking the truth in a loving way.

They are judgmental because they can be. Doesn't mean it's right. And their zealotry only drives people away from that which they claim to bring them. I guess the xenophobic judgers missed the following passages.
God is love. I give you a new commandment, love one another as I have loved you. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself, on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Judge not lest you not be judged, condemn not, lest you not be condemned. Take the log out of your own eye so that you may see clearly to take the speck out of another's eye.

Yes. Some people are plain judgemental whether they are religious or not. Best to just concentrate on not being that way ourselves, and hope we really are not!
I can catch myself being a little "better" than those proud legalistic judgemental Christians!!!!
So, the mirror is the most annoying place to look sometimes!!!

they are judgemental as they are employing their non secular criteria to diploma you against, which won't have any genuine foundation, different than to them. i'm an atheist, so have not got a faith to choose others with. Religions could be incorrect....very incorrect of their teachings, so something else you may bear in mind besides whilst being 'judged' by potential of those human beings.

Are we really?
If you knew me five minutes before I was saved you would of said I was going to hell and you would of been right but alas GOD saw something that nobody could see including me. So I can not even judge myself. How then could I judge others?
I used to say that "Christians were all judging me and telling me I was going to Hell blah blah blah.." Now that I think back, no person ever told me I was headed for Hell. The Holy Spirit inside of me told me I was a wretched sinner and was Hell bound. I was trying not to believe so I said it was Christians LOL. What a mess I was. I'm still a mess but I'm a Heaven bound child of GOD mess.
