I cannot stand it when I am in the grocery store and people who know one another stop in the middle of the ailse to have a conversation. Pretending as if they have no idea or could care less that they are blocking people from getting through. Am I the only one that this bothers?? Just curious..

Ugggggggggggh, my pet peeve! I cannot stand that stuff! Hello people, look around you and see that your actions affect others! People can be so selfish and inconsiderate. So, you ran into a friend and want to chat? Great! Just be aware of the other people around and make sure to stay out of their way.

My husband has to listen to me rant almost every time I get home from the grocery store... it's terrible!

YES! It IS rude and annoying and it USED to bother me a lot! I seriously had to take a sedative to go to the grocery store. I also tried going at 6 AM when nobody was there, but they don't have any good produce at that time...LOL.

Or, they park their cart and stand beside of it to look at the food! Now you have one person taking up the whole asile, instead of two. I used to be so BOTHERED by this!

Then, one day, I saw someone I hadn't seen in a long time. I was so happy to see her, that I momentarily forgot what I was doing. After being extra careful to never be "THAT PERSON" in the store, I was doing the same thing!!!! I didn't mean it, but the faces of the people waiting said it all! I was one of "those" people!

Now, when it happens, I always just assume they are not being rude. They are simply distracted and didn't mean to do it. Then, I say "excuse me ladies" in a big happy voice with a big stupid smile. I make sure my tone is not sarcastic and that my voice is loud enough to interrupt the conversation. I keep smiling, so they know I'm a nice person (or trying to be...LOL.) 99% of the time, they scatter out of my way in one second or less and apologize.

I'm no longer annoyed by these people, and realize most of them don't do it intentionally. I have an effective way to quickly break up the party without being rude.

You just have to find your own style of being politely assertive.

No, you're not the only one. It bothers me as well. It shows a complete lack of manners and consideration for other people. I'll admit, if I do see someone I know at the grocery store I will stop and talk. But I move over to one side and pay attention to the people around me. So, if I'm standing in front of the cans of corn (or whatever) and I can tell a lady is wanting one I'll move.

I think every American who has ventured out on a shopping trip has experienced this. I always say "excuse me" and push my way through. The people with common sense usually realize at that point what they are doing that they are blocking the aisle and move to the side or say bye and go about their way. The worst is when they know the cashier and gab and gab when you are behind them waiting to get checked out.

Oh yeah...this drives me right up a wall. It also makes me crazy when they stop in the middle of a street with their vehicles to do the same. And they know you're trying to get by, but they just keep talking. Totally rude !

The worst thing are couples pretending that noone else is around them when they should be getting a room. Theres a difference between Starbucks or Tescos and a motel.
Its definately not just you!

where else are we to socialize, just excuse your self and ask to pass. Funny thing is if you say anything to them then you are seen to be the one with a problem. We all need a place to get out to and talk with others. Over the years if you don't stop and socialize you will go crazy.

Get a running start and as hard as you can smash them in the back of the legs and fat A S S with your cart!!!!!!!! AAAARRRRGGG! OH YEA BABY!!! But seriously 'Whew!'.....Just say, "Excuse me please." Most people will move right out of your way. "Kindness is a thing of beauty when wielded by a kind person. When wielded by a sour soul the same kindness can be twisted into something dark and hurtful."--Dis Dain Vol. One

yes it is extremely rude. also the people that walk in groups of five and feel the need to all walk next to each other, completely blocking everyones way. it boggles my mind as to why people do not see their blatant rudeness.
