Interesting question because the Jesus described in the bible would not have been against gay marriage; he would let people be and do as they wish, and accept them as they are. Christianity, on the other hand, either attracts angry people or makes them angry once they're converted to the cause. Christians see themselves as warriors against everything they dislike. Bigotry and prejudice are a part of Christianity because bigots made them a part of Christianity -- not the biblical "Christ". Without their faith they would still be the bigots they are behind the "God loves you" facade.

I'm a Christian and a Conservative and I support gay marriage. Marriage is not a religious institution in this country. Have you forgotten about the 1st amendment. I just don't support special rights for gays. What kind of ignorant question is this? Anti gay attitudes existed long before Christianity and the new testament doesn't even mention homosexuality. Why didn't you say Jews or Muslims? This is a very bigoted question.

I'm a Christian and I support the right of gays to marry.

That is, if they are crazy enough to want to. Straight guys like me have already done enough damage to the institution of marriage anyway, thank you very much.

Live and let live I say. Follow the "Golden Rule".

Its always necessary for us who profess to be "Christians" to remember that Jesus did not hang out with the so-called "religious leaders" of his day - they hated him. His message was basically "everybody be nice to everybody for a change" and he got hung on a cross for his trouble.

Yep.

I support same sex marriage regardless of Christians' views on it. Nobody (especially Christians) has ever given me a good reason against it. The NH house voted to make same sex civil unions legal in NH and though not marriage it is probably as close as one can hope for.

Well, since religion is the basis of the marriage tradition there probably wouldn't be marriage as we know it. But there is and always will be natural law and most people, if there were no religion, would still denounce it as not being natural.
And most would at the natural world, and think monkeys don't do those things, other animals don't do those things, so it is wrong. No brainer.

Christ exists and therefore I could not answer your question. God would say that Homosexual marriage is ok? Then why in the old testament and the new testament- does God say that it is an abomination to Him? Jesus loves all of us no matter the sin, and yes, while on earth He spent time with sinners- however He wants them all to repent- nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus condoned the sin. If He condoned sinners, He would not have had to die for us.

I am a Christian, and I support the gay and lesbians having some sort of legal commitment. People have been gay and lesbian since the beginning of time. People will still be attracted to those of their own sex no matter what. I think they should have next of kin status. Let God be the one to Judge.I am straight so whatever other people do in their own beds have nothing to do with me.I am not their Judge.

Modern religion, with all of its petty and unrecognized-by-most-people excuses for disliking homosexuality, is the driving force against homosexual equality. Those who can say no without a doubt are not able to see a world beyond their religion, and therefore their responses are worthless. (Of course, you only mentioned Christianity, so Muslims would still be free to use their excuses.)

Honestly, I don't really know how the economic benefits of marriage are even that... beneficial... The wed couple gets tax breaks, but not much... but it seems unfair to those who never plan on wedding... at least as it is recognized by state.
