It's a position in the Order of the Church.

A Bishop is an ordained member of the Christian clergy. In those Christian churches that maintain an episcopal form of church government, a Bishop holds a position of authority. Their roles can differ significantly in the various denominations.

There are Bishops of all Nationalities.

Cheers!

Bishop is generally an English word, but the term is used in a variety of religions. Mostly Christian, but I believe it is also used at times in other religions to be the English translation for "leader" or "authority" in the local religion. This is no doubt the result of Christian missionaries who translated the native language and taught the natives English.
