The attack on Christianity is alive and well. It makes me sick!

Its a complete double standard in the media and in peoples mindsets. OK, to bash Christianity but don't you dare bash Islam.

Markyyy...I didn't say it is ok to bash ISLAM but when certain groups do, the muslims riot in the streets. Do you see Christians rioting???? Didn't think so...And for you not to see the double standard, makes you just another basher of Christianity...have a pleasant day in your world.

Actually, both displays are in extremely poor taste. (Well, depending on who made the chocolate . . . lol)

Seriously, I think the real problem here is not what religion does, but what the detractors of a given religion do, whether or not they are members of some other religion. Some people are equal-opportunity mockers, after all.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if people learned real respect for one another's beliefs? What if they began to realize that all monotheists are, of logical necessity, worshiping the same God, and the language and symbols used are merely matters of convenience and cultural tradition? After all, the Romans had no trouble understanding that their gods and goddesses had a lot of correspondence with the Greek ones. They simply adopted and adapted the stories and the statues, recognizing that the essence was what mattered, not the language used or the color of a robe.

That's why I love the Living Insights Center in St. Louis, which brings together the symbols and traditions of many different religions, and provides a venue for people to come together and learn from one another in mutual respect.

It seems to me that it's time people stopped being so fearful of those who make threats.

Terror only wins when it forcing people to change their ways.

After the British underground was bombed, the Brits went about their business and continued using the underground as they always had done.

The Brits won, the terrorists lost.

Kowtowing to threats and not printing cartoons etc. makes the terrorists the winners. Having said that, I think most cartoonists remember the years that Salmon Rushdie spent on the run.

Also, don't be fooled, many christians would like to have their own "fatwas" against critics of their faith and ideals. Just look at the behaviour of the right to life groups in the USA.

I am a Christian. But listen. It's the difference in societies, or how Draconian each wants its social codes to be.

In the middle east, they force women to wear birkas and kill and torture people with little or no trial all the time for being "wrong" based on the prevailing majority faith. The United States has not developed that way.

Appreciate the difference?Understand, if you put things in place in the Constitution that say you can kill or maim people for disagreeing with the majority faith, when Muslims outnumber Christians on these shores, there are going to be a lot of miserable Christians.

Ya gotta think ahead sometime, Bubba.

You seem to be under the impression that one particular group of people condemns the Mohammed cartoon while approving of the naked chocolate Jesus. This is not the case.

Also, the Jesus sculpture, titled "Sweet Jesus" but erroniously referred to as "My Sweet Lord" by the media, is a piece of conceptual art; it is clear that you don't understand conceptual art. Its meaning is open to interpretation and Ibelieve it is about commercialism of religion. Corporations and churches alike use compelling imagery and rewards to get your business. They sell Jesus like a chocolate bar. It is not an attack on Christianity. It is an attack on apathy.
Think.

Also, the media reports that gallery visitors would be invited to eat and suck on Jesus were entirely false. This is evidence of the war on anyone who opposes or criticizes Christianity, not the other way around.

Jesus got angry at religious people (leaders) who were FANATIC's about their religion.

Jesus forgave the people who nailed HIM to the Cross.

Religion:
1. There is not a single religion in the world that can recreate your spirit (only Jesus can do that) which makes it possible for you to go to Heaven.
2. There are some religions that have good ideas in them in that they can help you become a better person and do good things.
3. There are some religions that have Dangerous Ideas in them, and could hurt human beings.
4. Some religions should be called Cults.
All religions are false as far as SALVATION is concerned.
Jesus told us that if we followed HIM we would be persecuted by the Enemy of all Human Beings---satan.

Um, it wasn't ok to display the chocolate jesus either (which, in my opinion was a VERY nice display. Only the truely insecure would take umbrage with it)
it was taken down and now it's stored in a basement. It will probably melt there over the summer.
Hey, that would be a cool display actually, seeing it drip and melt away to nothing. Let's hope humanity can pull it's head out of it's rectal cavity and let religion do the same; drip away to nothing.

That hair! Oh my!
What was the question?

I can't say I know anything about the naked chocolate Jesus. But last I heard most Christian leaders do not put out a hit on some one who is sacrilegious. Otherwise... "Woe be to the plethora of sinners on this site. " I probably wouldn't be entirely safe either.

Because the Muslims seem to be offended by everything & take themselves too seriously.
I am sick of their moaning about everybody misunderstanding them.
Why don't they do something nice for someone else for a change, open a hospital or some other decent gesture, instead of blowing things up, kidnapping, or making threats on the internet.
Christians keep things in preportion & don't have a victim mentality.

It's not ok, I think people must show respect to Jesus Christ even if they don't believe in Him.

The problem is there're some who respects nothing, even themselves, so do such things under the slogan of "Liberty" or "Freedom of expression", while both concepts are restricted by not harming yourself or the others. It's really strange that Most positive laws prohibits "high stereo sound level" because it hurts the feelings of your neighbours, while it ignores such matter.

Er, perhaps you haven't noticed the uproar over the naked chocolate Jesus? Or the constant attacks on Islam here in the U.S.?

You're cherry-picking your evidence to make a case for a falsehood. That doesn't work.
