It depends. If it's a rare ocassion, like you go to a conference out of town and your employer reimburses you for the food and hotel the answer is no. If you get a regular allowance for lodging, then the answer is yes. For example, I know some college administrators get an on campus allowance and that is taxable.

If it's direct reimbursement for business travel expenses, it is NOT taxable!

If your employer included it in your taxable income on your W-2 (bad form on their part if they did) you'll have to file Form 2106 and transfer that to Schedule A to take a deduction.
