I have 2 questions about Canadian immigration (I was taking the self-assessment test at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html ):

1. For "Factor 6 – Adaptability (maximum 10 points) Section 5. Principal Applicant or Spouse / Common-Law Partner has family in Canada" on this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/Adaptability.asp , does COUSIN count as a FAMILY?

2. For "Factor 3 – Work Experience (maximum 21 points)" at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/WorkExperience.asp , I currently have 2 years of work experience. Now, if I apply now, it would take at least another 2 years to be called for an interview. By these 2 years my work experience would be 4 years. So, at the time of my interiew, would the immigration office count me as a 2 year experienced person or 4 year?

Thanks for your answers and I would really appreciate some reliable answers.

These are questions best asked of an embassy official or legal advisor for accurate information.

However, a first cousin would definitely be considered family. A more removed cousin, I would think so, but honestly do not know. It is blood relatives ... which in most circles equals family.

You need to enter your current work experience, and I can only assume that Canadian Immigration officials are aware of the delay from application date to interview date and know that you have since gained more experience.

Again ... these are my own assumptions, not necessarily fact.

If you notice, there is a place after the assessment that says even if you don't have the required 67 points, but believe there are additional circumstances in your favour, to go ahead and apply and attach a note to the application outlining such. Your additional expected experience can be noted here.
