One time a friend of mine accidentallly won something she didn't want.... she just messaged the seller and explained that it was a mistake and doesn't want it anymore. Sure the person had an attitude about it, but nothing happened to her account..
You should try to message the person you won it from. and explain it to them.
They should be able to cancel your order and put that item back on, or give it to the person in second place.

First off I want to tell you that being a 100% feedback eBay seller for many years if you don't have your mind made up on purchasing the item then you should not submit a bid.
I am sure that you are an honest person that made an honest mistake. However when you win an item you have bid on it is a legal binding agreement to purchase that item.
If you have not made this mistake before you might be able to come to some type of agreement with the seller, but I suggest that you pay for both the listing and the relisting fees.
This might sway the seller to let you off the hook. The seller has the right to report you to eBay as a non paying bidder, and if he/she wanted to pursue it further, eBay can most definately revoke your account indefinately.
My advice to you is contact the seller, explain to them that you are willing to pay for the list, relist fees and hope that this person is nice enough to understand that you made an honest mistake.
The problem with non paying bidders as a whole is that they give the buying/selling experience on eBay a bad name. I do want to tell you that the seller has every right to post negative feedback if he/she chooses on your account.
Good advice from a seller is do the right thing and most likely they will be understanding.

The seller can actually take you to small claims court over it and your ebay account can be taken from you . I would suggest that you pay for the item you bidded on then put it back up on ebay and try to get your money back . as for the mistake you made, do not bid on something that you are not 100% sure about wanting, there is always the risk of you winning :)

Send an email to the seller explaining your mistake. If they are really nice, they will let it slide. If not, the worst that can happen is that they will leave negative feedback, which will not look good to others if you try to buy or sell on Ebay in the future.

Just email the guy and tell him you no longer want the item or you take the item and try selling on ebay yourself or on a different website!

You must contact the seller, make something good up for why you couldn't buy it (like it was an accident, my little nephew got on the internet and....) and most likely the seller will let it go. You MUST negotiate with the seller by e-mail.
Actions against you:
1. Negative feedback...alot of it leads to (see #2)
2. Ebay account suspension (they do it all the time to people)
Nobody likes my answer?? Why..it worked for me, go ahead and be honest then...but remember what I haved told you.

Just skip the deal - the worst thing that could happen is
that you get a negative feedback which means nothing.
I have been cheated on deals and lost over £ 55, given the seller negative feedback and he happily keeps on trading.
