in order to stay motivated at the gym you have to go everyday, remember to workout on different muscle group everyday, such as upper body on mon, wed, fri, sun or lower body part on tue, thur, sat. You may also only do cardio workout on sunday if you wish.
my personal tips to stay motivated is to workout at different gym location everyday. I have a bally membership and I can go to any of their facilities. The reason is to change the scene and avoid boredom.

I was in the same situation. I am in college, do not work. My parents pay $30 a month for a membership. I probably went 5 times last year. The thing I found that worked best for me was going with a friend. My friend Lisa and I go 6 days a week. We get Sunday off to rest. We both have to lose about the same amount of weight and we keep each other motivated. I used to keep saying "I'll go tomorrow to the gym" but whenever tomorrow came I would put it off another day. With Lisa we decide ahead of time. I say "See you tomorrow at 9am." That way it is a SET date/appointment. After going for a while it becomes routine and you start to lose the weight. We chat about the day we can wear our bikinis to the beach. haha!!! It helps us work harder. Also if it is really hard for you to find someone to go with then make a deal with yourself. Reward yourself (other than with food) Say that if you go to the gym 3 days a week for a month then you will treat yourself to a new shirt. I like to treat myself to a massage after every 5 pounds I lose. it sort of becomes a game. Hope that helped!!! Remember you can do it!!

I go every day because I have a fitness goal in my mind and use the gym to vent my anger. The 30 dollars per month is also a pretty good motivator for me to go every day as well. But id say that if you dont have a strong desire or will to change your physical appearance through weight training or cardio workouts then dont bother with the gym. Going to the gym is about passion, disipline, and you must also havea goal in mind that is reasonable for you to reach. If you do not have these traits dont go until you do or you will not see results.

To be honest...you have to just do it......I have been in the same boat most of my life and finally I just told myself I am tired of being so fat. I looked in the mirror and asked myself why am I so damn lazy? I thought about it and now I have been running a mile every day and doing push-ups and sit-ups

go for a whole week everyday at the same time. be sure to be active for 90 straight minutes. you'll get the feel for routine and adapt to the physical stresses. next thing you know, you'll be addicted. then you can start a real regimen.

Formulate clear diet and fitness goals. For eating, work on a one-week plan for meals. For fitness, schedule your workouts three weeks out to avoid other commitments canceling your good intentions.

Quit being lazy. Make yourself go, no matter how much you dont want to. You will have a very strong sense of self appreciation afterwards.
