i have been given Laxatives by Doctor and I wondered how quick they will work. I want to go out but I don't want to be desperatly needing a loo while out.

when i had laxatives before it took about 45 - 60 minutes for it to work. when my friend took laxatives it took her 15 minutes. It depends on your dosage of it, how much you eat while taking the laxatives, and your weight at the moment overall. though i cant really tell you how fast it would work for you, i recommend you try to stay near a bathroom for the next hour.

6 - 12 hours, depending on how many you take. Laxatives are a tough little thing to base your life around, because the cramps hurt like hell.
For example, if you take them before you go to sleep, you'll be getting cramped up the entire next day. My suggestion is that when you know you have a free night one night (and you go to sleep at 11 PM), take them at 6 or 7 AM that day, and they'll kick in at about 4 - 7 the same day. By the time you go to sleep, they'll have stopped working and you get to rest your intestines with a good night's sleep.
I want to give you a slight warning in advance: The first time hurts badly, but they work really, really well.

Castor oil, it tastes horrible, 2-3 full spoons and you'll be done in 20-30 minutes. Epson salts are very dangerous to use, can produce hemorrhoids and the enema it more to clean your colon than constipation. next time try to get some aloe vera pills, a couple every night are great to keep regularity but for emergencies! Castor oil!, my sisters are models and they use it every time they need to get a few pound out right away

it depends on how many pills you take and what kind of laxatives those are. usually they take 6-12 hours if you take them before bed and less if you take them during day.
