Obviously women who wear rings on their ring finger are married. The single women have took this up so creeps and freaks don't hit on them. As a man what is good way to approach a women with a ring? It's a crapshoot, married or not. It could be anybody's guess.

You can always ask if her husband would like to join you for coffee. (Then you'll know.)

I'd talk to a girl that you like, grab a cup of coffee or something and compliment her ring, and ask if it is her wedding ring. She should tell you then if she is married or not.

You know what? If she liked you then she wouldn't wear it around you. Because you know, I've pulled that stunt and made sure not to wear my ring around guys I wanted to ask me out.

In general though, in casual conversation a woman will eventually (pretty soon really) say "my boyfriend", "my fiance", or "my husband" to put you on notice. Ahh... The mating rituals we have.
