I moved to Alabama in early 70 and they weren't very "integrated" back then. Being from California made me a Yankee and ethnically I didn't meet their baseline for white.
Therefore I used the Colored bathrooms, drinking facets and some store I just waited outside. I was 10, didn't understand it because I didn't live in a place like that.
But I come on here and the slander is still the same only the faces have changed. Now we put a crime "Illegal Alien" and attached it to a race. Now a new form of the same game is back.
What makes the racesist feel so entitled? My family came here from Sicily back in 1910. I'm a third generation American. I feel no ownership other than to defend the nation against enemies.
So what if they cost money, so what they go to schools. Isn't that the dream? Wasn't that the shining light that made us great?
I agree we should tighten ALL borders. But if you are here and working, your an American.
We are not here forever, we can't take it with us.

The difference is that your family came here legally. They didn't pay a person to "sneak" them across the border. There are laws prohibiting that. So the the moment the Mexican, the Canadian, the Vietnamese "boat people", the Cubans, etc. cross that line without going through the proper channels, they become criminals. Strike one!
The the simple fact is that they are willing to work for lower wages than the normal US citizen and many US companies would rather break the law and pay the lower wages to those criminals than higher ones to US citizens. This lowers the wage scale for everyone. And does take up the lower end job that entry level workers normally take. Strike two!
They are a drain on the health care system nationwide. Many hospsitals have had to either close or cut back on services because the government says they have to provide service, but they can't ask for proof of being in this country legally. There is a hospital in Texas where in the first 3 months of 2006 over 60% of the new babies born were born to illegal moms who got - FREE prenatal care, FREE delivery, FREE clothing for the baby, FREE infant carseat, FREE postpartum care and the list goes on. The only thing the illegals had to say was that they had no money. They did not have to have a green card or bring in any proof of anything. On the other hand, US citzens, in the same financial problems as the illegals, had to bring in tons of paperwork to even get a discount on their bills. So who has more rights... the legal citzens or the illegals? Strike three!!
Education is the same. Schools in California provide English as a second language. This means that the student will be taught in their native languageif needed to get them through school. How in the heck does that teach them them
English? In addition, the illegals, have no desire to learn English. That is not why they are here in the US. Strike four!!!!
Finally, the reason that the Mexicans have been singled out is that they are the majority of illegals crossing into this country. Yes, the dream was to come and make something of yourself, that is not what is happening with this invasion, for that is what it is. The illegals coming here have no desire to assimilate, to learn our language, our culture, and to improve themselves. They want the money to send to Mexico. How many billions of US dollars are being sent out of this country to Mexico every year? If the flow stopped, it would not suprise me if the Mexican economy collapsed. Strike five!!!
I am all for legal immigration. This country needs it to keep it strong. I i is what has built this country into what it is today. But if the drain from Mexico continues, the US will become a 3rd world country just like Mexico. Is that what YOU really want?

My thing is this is about immigration, so, why does race become an issue? Illegal immigrants have violated numerous laws that is the long and short of it.
I for one am not against immigration, as long as it is legal.

The site isn't racist and deluded. Some of the posters seem to be. Unfortunately, when you subscribe to the principle of free speech, you have to take the dumb with the brilliant - and the ones you disagree with along with those whose views are the same as yours.
The only cure for bad free speech is more free speech --- who said that? I forget.

illegal alien is not attached to any race, it's just that most are mexicans. no matter what race, they are lawbreakers, and working here definitely does not make you an American. and the dream is for legal aliens, illegals don't deserve the dream, all they deserve is to be deported, jailed or executed if found to be illegal felon!!!!
