If it's an obvious, pus-filled white head that looks like it would pop if you barely touched it, you can take two Q-Tips on either side of the pimple and GENTLY squeeze out the stuff inside. DO NOT USE YOUR FINGERS. You will only spread bacteria and damage the skin, resulting in scarring. Know your limits when you use the Q-Tip method. Follow up with some benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. NEVER POP pimples that are deep, red, and beneath the skin. These types of pimples are too far into the skin and if you squeeze them they will release the infection into surrounding tissues, resulting in a zit that's twice the size it was before you touched it. As for blackheads, if you get an extraction facial, a pro can deal with those suckers.

Some people say it's not okay to pop pimples, but I had so many as a teen ager I could not avoid it. But try this, some people are not patient enough to wait for the pimples to dry up and heal with medication. So try this. Never squeeze them right off the bat. But take a needle and sterilize it and place it in alcohol. Then stick it into the center of the pimple. Then take your two fingers and squeeze up under the base of the pimple, never at the top. If you squeeze up under the base, it will get the root of the infection. Squeeze at the top just makes it tear and worse. Moreover, only use a needle if you see the pimple has come to a head or white. If you have redness in a area but can not find the pimple, just take your finger and tap that area throughout the day. What this does is expose the pimple. And the continuous tapping will make the pimple come to a head so you can find it. If you do it right, you can take care of the pimple in one shot and it heals super fast.

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

It's recommended that you don't. It would leave little scarring on the skin. Although sometimes it won't be as noticable as a pimple, as you grow older and your skin ages, the scarring will become alot more visible, and you'll regret it [I'm young and I've done it, and I can already see the results for the future - though it's a good thing I've stopped]. If you wish to get rid of it just make sure you cleanse daily, or if you're impaitent, then just buy a product (clearasil, etc.). Though if you're buying a product - I'd stick to one only - wouldn't like to put a lot of chemicals on the skin.

If it causes alot of pain for you, by all means do so. But generally, popping pimples leave very bad scars that are impossible to heal. I advise that you use products like proactive, (Oxy *chill Factor*) or any other acne solutions. They should clear the area up within a few weeks.

I've never done this, but supposedly this method is better than squeezing them: Using a pin, poke a hole in the zit and then pull at your skin around the zit to stretch it flat and force out the oozy gunk. Supposedly this method doesn't cause scarring.

Only if it has formed a head, and needs to be popped. Otherwise, never pop a zit, it will cause a scar!

It's your body fighting off invasive soil. If you have a photo the next day after finding a pimple there's a couple ways to get rid of it. some put aspirin on it and cover it with a band aid. I think you have to be careful with that, because aspirin in salicylic acid, and it could ddamage the good skin.there's another way with hydrogen peroxide alternated with ice. not so sure how that one is done , but I read it on questions and answears last week . so you might be able to find it.
