I'm 5' 1" and 140 pounds. I'm on a 1200 - 1550 calorie a day diet. I'm eating a lot of whole wheats, fruits, trying to eat more vegetables. Trying to drink 8 cups of water a day, 2 cups of milk, no junk food, no soda. I'm trying to run 2-3 times a week and I'm using the Abs of Steel, Legs of Steel and Buns of Steel workout tapes from the 90's everyday, or at least 6 days a week. How does it sound?

I'm trying to eat between those numbers of calories because thats what sparkpeople.com and ediets.com recommended. So if someone could tell me a better way to figure it out that would be nice.

sounds good and healthy to me. make sure the milk is lowfat or non-fat. make sure you are eating your meals in small portions and 5 or 6 times a day. you may also try adding oatmeal and fat-free yogurt in your daily snacks or breakfast. make breakfast your biggest meal, while making dinner one of your smaller ones. stick with chicken breast or some fish too. have fun!

That sounds like an excellent plan: you have a variety of types of exercise, including cardio (the most important type for losing weight). Your diet also sounds wise: it's balanced, and you're choosing nutritious foods (like blueberries--very healthy!). The only things I might suggest is 1) perhaps reconsider the protein shake, because those are notorious for having LOTS of calories, and drinking calories is worse than eating them. Perhaps have some lowfat yogurt and strawberries instead? And 2) if you're especially concerned about belly fat, I would throw in some exercises that focus on that area--some weight machines target abs, or there are a lot of cool exercises that you don't need any equipment for that are great for the abs--and you don't have to do those yucky old crunches, either! Granted, I'm not familiar with spinning, so maybe that targets your abs--if so, then you're good to go! Congrats on not falling for the fad diet/crazy, unrealistic routine. Very inspiring! And congrats on your upcoming marriage--I'm sure you'll look lovely! With the schedule you're on, losing 5 lb by September should be no problem, so no need to stress. =)

It sounds pretty good, but what about your lean proteins? Just try to eat a cup and a half of vegetables twice a day, and two pieces of fruit, and then get the rest of your calories from lean proteins, carbohydrates, and low-fat dairy products. Make sure the bread is whole grain, because even if you are eating "whole wheat" bread, it may not be made with wheat flour. Check the ingredients to make sure that the first ingredient says whole wheat.
Keep up the good work!

You sound like you have a good system going, but unless your weight is mostly muscle, your weight is slightly off. Here's a chart to measure your appropriate weight:
For every 5'' add 100 pounds.
Every inch after that, add 5 pounds.
Based on my calculations, you should weight 105.
But I've also calculated your possible muscle structure based on your diet and height. Your appropriate weight should be around 130-140. Your diet is actually excellent, so I wouldn't worry. Keep up the excellent work! To me, you're fine as long as your mostly muscle.
Good Luck!

Walk a few miles per day and do not eat sooooo mant carbs. Eat protein bars.
Wheat and fruit are not good for losing weight.
I am 5'7" and weigh 115 but also have a very high metabolism.

It seems like you're doing pretty good! I would say definitely keep this up. Also, make sure that the milk is either skim or low-fat. If you assigned yourself this 1200-1550 diet, then there might be a little problem this is: You might be eating too little calories. Solution: If you feel extremely hungry throughout the day make sure you eat something like string cheese or protein. Keep up the good work!

stick more to one number of calories consumed - and its not 1200.
to lose weight - cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min. you dont have to do those videos that much if you do cardio, 3 times a week is enough.
more veggies.
5-6 small meals a day.

sounds good to me, but can probably up the ante on the protein. protein is really important in losing weight.
also, try to do some lite lifting if you can. the more lean mass you have the higher your metabolism will be.
thats why guys tend to lose weight faster because of lean mass.
