Tough one Marine. Personal opinion...OK? You did the right thing by ending it before you return to Iraq. Harsh; yes and tougher on you than her....absolutely. But you can't be in a battle zone wondering what you're going to do can you? NO.
You made a decision, accept and put in the back of your mind as much as possible.

My only experience in this area is that during the Vietnam era I was going to OCS (army) and my fiance sent me the Dear John letter....nothing compared to your situation...but bad enough for me. My dad...Navy Officer at the time...wrote me and said better now than when you have your boots on the ground.

That's the best I can offer.....best of luck and stay safe.

My husband is in Iraq currently and I would never do something like that to him whether he is here or there.

Your wife probably would have cheated on you eventually, regardless if you are deployed or not. Don't let her use being lonely as an excuse. That is pure BS. There is absolutely no excuse for it. File divorce papers!

Don't take her back. I'm a military wife (Army) and I would never do that to my husband. You'll find someone 100% better, someone who deserves to be the wife of a marine. Obviously she's weak and weak men and women can't be military spouses.

My first wife cheated on me while being deployed (I can't say I don't understand some considering how I stay deployed not a normal US soldier here) And she also got pregnant. I ended it really quick. And I ended up meeting some one a thousand times better! So trust me bro deal with the pain by talking to your close battle buddies (they won't pick on you they have similar problems) see the Chaplin and move on. Some one out there is so much better. I think its treason to cheat on your deployed spouse!.................Shadow Stalker

Same thing happened to my son... and yes, he's found someone 1,000 times more worthy of his devotion.

Hang in there, Marine... You have an entire Marine Family pulling for your safe return and happy life.
