Good old Drontal alwormer is the most effective to use.
The problem with cheaper brands is YES they may treat lots of worms but its their effectiviness at killing the worms and the number of the total population it knocks out. Drontal kills 99.8% of all worms, popantel does something like 99.5% and milbemax is close to 99.9%
The more you pay the better the drug usually

I am not a breeder but with my pups and foster dogs Drontal is what I use

And if this is for puppies I would never recommend a spot on treatment as pups while playing would ingest also would not using a pregnant femal as it is a product that has to be absorbed by the skin and then travel thru the bloodstream inorder to work which means the unborn pups are also subjected to the product. probably danagerous since it also contains something for fleas so could damage their nervous system

Actually i have just started using a product called Advocate, its by Bayer. Its an external spot treatment that does fleas, ticks, mange (both types), intestinal worms and heartworm. Its great, because as an external treatment, you can use it as a heart worming treatment in an older dog without having to do the blood tests first. Its a bit more expensive than regular flea and wormers but its definately cheaper than paying for both.

I like Panacur. It will treat almost all of the common intestinal parasites (basically everything except coccidia). You would have to go through a vet to get it, but it is not very expensive and it is very safe. Also, you can get it over the counter for larger dogs (it is marketed as SafeGuard) but I would not recommend a powder if you are trying to worm puppies.

Nemex. It lasts longer and it doesn't have a wierd effect on your dog. And Make sure that it is not tapeworm first.

None of the above. The only SAFE and effective dewormer for ANY dog but especially puppies is one prescribed and given by a vet.

Ask your vet. They will all work but be careful of the dosage.
