If there's not too much of it, do you really need to do anything? Most guys are OK about women with a slight moustache or beard.

If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

Well you might have a hormone imbalance. Do not pluck as they will get worse.
Are your periods regular?
Do you have to fight to keep weight off?
Do you have acne?
If you answer this with a yes...at least two of the questions....then go to an Endocrinologist for a work up. You have something going on. If other women in your Fathers family have this, it could also be heredity.
If you have just a few then electrolysis is the way to go. If there are 50 or more then try laser hair removal.

Facial hair is natural for both sexes, and some women are prone to getting darker, thicker hair on their faces, specifically on the chin and upper lip area. You can try plucking out the hairs or waxing. If it's a really big problem you can look into permanent hair removal, but I've heard it is very painful as well as expensive. Getting some facial wax is your best bet I'd say! :)

This can be caused by an excessive of male hormone and can also be a symptom of an underlying condition have you excessive hair anywhere else have painful periods? See your GP Dianette and Yasmin are Pills that are sometimes used to treat a condtion that results in the body producing too much male hormones. If your GP reassures you all is well then wax the lot.

Sometimes it is due to genes or so I've read but also hormonal. There is really no cure but electrolysis has helped. If not you can also try waxing and the hairs should not come out so thick the next time.

If it's under your chin, just shave it. Or let it grow out and get it waxed. pluck it out with a tweezer. Get electrolysis. Electrolysis is a more permanent fix, but it has complications sometimes.

Because hairy chins are hereditary, waxing is the only cure. Shaving it off will give you stubble, which is very unflattering.

spend the money and have your face lasered. you are only 19 and have this problem, which means it is only going to get worse as you get older and i do mean worse. it is expensive but it is totally worth it and while you are at it, get your lip done and neck and other parts of your face that will suffer the same as you get older. i promise you, its worth it.
