It depends on the size of the oranges and how well you squeeze them. I'd guess 70 to 80. Maybe even 100.

Why don't you just buy orange juice ?
What the point of squeezing it fresh, if your going to make a gallon, & most of it will probably just end up sitting in the fridge?

It depends on the type of oranges you use.
Navel oranges are not a good choice, because they have more pith and peel.
Valencias are a good choice, because they are very juicy. I buy them by the case, ($11.00 usually) and it takes about 20-30 to make a gallon, depending on how ripe they were - the riper the more juice.
Should not have any green on them when you buy them - this means they were picked and shipped unripe. If you're going for a good price, be sure to get them by the case. We do a lot of juicing!!!

It takes 3 to 4 medium size oranges to make one glass. This would equal 128 oranges to make one gallon.

Depends on the size of the oranges as well as the size of the muscles of the "orange-squeezer."
