Well stated.
It's an interesting fact that it is near to the time cycle where there are large scale contentions within and without organized religions. There is the possibility of a Muslim Jihad that causes the many sects of Christianity to come together to destroy Islam and then turn against each other....
The religious leaders on both sides are bringing this to pass, not for the good of their people or the world, but for Power and Control.

Wow, these articles are quite scary.
And while they are, I would say, somewhat questionable, I would say that it is undeniable that the idea of ridding the constitution of the idea of the separation of church and state had been a big part of right-wing activism in these past years.
A simple listen to a few hours of the 700 Club is all that's needed. There are regular political reports, and updates as well as discussions of anti-ACLU activities, and reports about Heritage University School of Laws's growing influence in Washington.
I'm sorry, but the cries for declaration of war on American society were heard BY everyone directly from the leaders of the evangelical community. They have never made it a secret that they intend to work towards changing the laws of this country so that they reflect a "Christian worldview".
It may make some angry that people find this idea absolutely repugnant, but the fact is that there are those who are as much American citizen as they are who are not, nor have any intention of being Christian. And believe or not there are many MANY Christians who do not agree with the views, ideas or certainly politics of the religious right. And neither one of these groups of people wants to live in the "United Christian States of America".

I'll be the first on to point out "Christian Reconstructionism" is Political. (I read the article.) Again, this tactic sounds familiar also. Personally, I really don't see it making a large impact. I cannot condone a man who blatantly say to "Stone gays." (Although very observant on the rock issue...) And I do agree that the "Ten Commandments" should be public, but on the STATE HOUSE LAWN. But private schools hold as much weight as "Home schooling." And if Public schools would get tougher teachers, they might get their class-rooms back. 1) I don't endorse ANYBODY EXCEPT God and J.C. 2) I cannot simply remember any passage, nor action that which J.C. forced his belief on any of the masses.
So to each their OWN label...
=)

Yes it is on the rise. I see it even in the little town that I live in. There is an air of aggression and hostility moving through the more evangilistic fundimentalist churches. They believe they are in a "war" and the other more moderate churches aren't saying a word. I can see something really bad happening due to this attitude running unchecked by the less radical Christians. We are very close to a world wide implosion that will effect all of us in a bad way.

We already have a state religion--it's called secular humanism. God has been expelled from school the past 40 years or so.
I am a fundamentalist Christian and believe it or not, Christians believe in liberty. The Constitution is based on Biblical principles whether you like it or not.
And if you think Bush is a Christian, you need to wake up.

Yes, the mainstream supports this Lunacy by their silence.
Oh well, after the Chinese have complete mastery of the technologies the USA will have plenty of people who know how to pray, even if they have no clue about physics, chemistry or biology.

Paranoid delusional left wing extremist blog sites and websites are seldom reliable sources of info on the 'religious right' and these are no exception. But, beware! If the sec-progs and neo-commies get too rowdy they will awaken the sleeping giant and there will be heck to pay in the following election.
