Acne prone people are still going to experience pimples and blemishes, even after the best skin care routine. After they appear, knowing how to get rid of them quickly and sensibly reduces your chance of scarring.
Use the preventive maintenance above, along with some pimple drying techniques to shorten the life of your blemishes and breakouts.
If your skin is oily, use an over the counter cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to start the drying process. If you're experiencing one of those painful "under the skin, cystic" pimples, put a warm compress on it to drain it first, then dry it up with benzoyl peroxide. Sometimes putting a small piece of tape on your blemish overnight will help draw out the fluid and infection.
Another overnight home remedy for zapping a zit is to put a dab of toothpaste on it to help dry it out. You may need to test this on a short-term basis to make sure it doesn't irritate your pimple. Calamine lotion will have the same drying effect.
It's not recommended to squeeze a pimple, but the jury is still out. While doing this makes you more prone to scarring and skin discolorations, sometimes it's the only fast way to drain it. If you're at the point where you feel the need to squeeze, consult your dermatologist for treatment.
If blemishes persist, scarring needs to be prevented and there are many useful products to put a stop to recurring acne and pimples. If your blemish is gone and you have some discoloration but no scar, don't fret. Chances are, it will fade with time.

Using a good quality skin care regimen morning and night will clear up most of your problems, if not all of them.
Now, depending on your pimples...I would recommend either Skinlogics skin care regimen or All Clear acne skin care regimen from BeautiControl.
Skinlogics (skin care for 20s and under skin has salicylic acid to help control the oil and discourage bacteria) and All Clear (for acne prone - little more powerful...may be a little drying for some)
Anyone can use either systems as they contain no oil or alcohol...and the system lasts 3-4 months. And the products are guaranteed...if you experience no results...return for a full refund at the end of 30 days.

You have to attack acne where it starts, with your diet. For me, diet was the cause and solution. Topical medications fight the symptoms. Start by eliminating trans fats and eating more fruits and vegetables. Once you start cleaning up the inside of your body, by eating properly, the outside of your body (your skin) will be get cleaned up too. I started a website to document my problem and solution.

You might find it helpful to read my story. Just remember to eat an all natural/organic diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. Stay away from processed foods. Use mild, all natural cleansers and don't pick at your face. Get lots of sleep and enough water for your body weight. Remember, clean body = clean skin. While you're waiting for your skin to clear, remind yourself that acne is a challenge that you will overcome soon. Once you're rid of it, tell all your friends how you did it. That's what I'm doing. God Bless.

first go to the derm, he may resommend something.
if what he gives you doesnt work, id try MURAD. its a product liekm proactive, except instead of benzoyl peroxide it uses sacylic acid. proactive(or when i used it) cleared my skin up but then my face would get extremely dry re and flaky. so i got MURAD, and lemme tell you, its amazing. it keeps ur face moisturized and it clears your face at the same time-so it doesnt dry ur face out (makin it want to produce MORE oil...)
good luck. dont worry, im goin through the same thing!!!

I would suggest ProActiv. I use it myself and have been for a year. Within the first few weeks of using it, I noticed results. Really cleaned out my pores and they appear to have gotten much smaller! The best of luck to you!

Tea Tree oil, it may be stinky and sting when you first use it, but it really works wonders. I have been using it for years and I can tell the difference when I forget to put it on a day. It has antiseptic properties that kills the bacteria in the Acne. My suggestions from personal experiance and have the face to prove it:
1) Don't wash too frequently- the more you wash (like more than twice a day, depending on your skin type) the dryer your skin becomes. This will cause your skin to release more oil and create more acne.
2) This may sound weird, but by face cream. I found out (and asked my doc.) that even though your face may be pimply because of the oil comming out of your skin, putting face cream on it aids in giving it some moisture it needs, so it doesn't bring so much oil to your face. I suggest clean&clear Oxygenating ultra-light moisturizer. It has sunscreen along with the moisturizer not being extremely heavy and clogging your pores. Use about an amount the size of a dime, or a bit more depending on your face size, but don't put too much on. if you see the cream after rubbing it in gently you've put on too much.
3) put on cream/astringent after washing face. best done when after taking a shower. the steamy atmosphere keeps your pores open, they have just been cleaned out and if you put in the astringent it kills the bacteria before they are able to continue with their head start. :) works wonders.
4) don't pop them! what ever you do, and no matter how tempting it might be, let it pop on its own or just go away. They create scars and if they are deep buises that take weeks to go away, so please don't ever pop them. But if it pops on its own, gently GENTLY squeeze the sides untill the hard part (the thing that stuffed up the pore in the first place comes out) and then clean your face and hands. Then whip out some astringent and apply it as quickly as possible (me= tea tree oil. I try to go as natural as possible.)
5) Drink lots of water. the more sodas and high sugar content drinks you drink (milk is okay as long as you stay in the four glasses a day limit. it makes your stomach upset if you do more...) the more likely you are to get pimples. you can get flavored water or sparkling water (tasts good chilled and with a bit of lemon) if you happen to not like the taste of water or it gets bland.
6) Tea tree oil. It is expensive stuff and can be found in natural food stores or in some grocery stores. But you don't use much. Justone end of a q-tip or three to four drops on a cotton ball are all you need for your face. Depending on if you have sensitive skin or not I would dilute it if you do. other wise use it straight. however you don't have to use the oil itself. you can also use skin/face care products with it as an ingrediant. however the more chemicals in with it the more likely it is not going to be as effective. But its smell in small quanities is quite pleasing to the sense. Oh and don't get it too close to your eyes or nose. It does sting (alot) if you get it really close or in your eye, and it you happen to get some in your nose accidently, its going to be a bit dry in that spot for a day or two. If you happen to get some in your mouth, lol it tastes nasty but your fine. just drink some water to get the taste out of your nouth.
If you don't want to use tree oil, I suggest using clean and clear products. they seem to work the best for me, espeically some the Advantage line. Like the acne spot treatment gets the redness and white part gone in one day. Also don't use acne washes everyday. that dries out your skin so fast, I suggest using that every other one to two days and a regular refreshing clearing face wash for the other days. the morning fresh line smells nice and leaves your face with a clean tingly feeling.
There you go. I hope this helps.
God bless you
K.K.
oh and did you know that the Germans call Acne/pimples pickles? lol
Good luck.

don't wash your face more than 3 times a day and use a clinically-proven zit cream and to keep zits gone afterwards, wash your face with skin cleanser everday.

keep your face as clean as you can with cleanser that has alpha hydroxy acid in it, to help prevent scaring, and if you wear makeup always remember to take it off before you sleep.
