What feeds mine is my family too. My wife is my comfort and my daughters are my joy. With both of them, how can I lose? If things are really bad, I pick up my bible and let it fall open and I read the page it falls open to. You will be surprised at the messages you receive that way.

You said it - being around good friends and children!
We are taught that one always needs good companions, and with "good" I mean "righteous". A good friend will guide you to what will benefit you, however a bad friend will pull you down the drain.
Children bring you a realization of what purity means, for they are still innocent and untainted by the corruption of this world.

My sweet adorable and charming children. My daughter loves Dora and is so vain, lmao. She wants her Dora clothing with her Dora ponytail holders wearing her Dora shoes. She wants to brush her teeth with her Dora toothbrush and her Dora toothpaste. Then she wants to eat Dora spaghettios and then for a snack have Dora animal crackers. I get a kick out of her obsession with Dora, and she's 3. My son is literally a charmer. When he's whining and sees that I'm nearly out of patience, he stops, gives me this small smile with this funny look on his face, then when he has my attention gives me a huge smile and starts to giggle. He is also very bright. I literally taught him the words bye bye and how to wave within 5 minutes. He also says about 15 words and he's only 1. When they play together, it's hilarious. They never fight, and many have told me I'm lucky for that. My daughter has loved her brother since the day he was born, and when she visited me in the hospital kept giving him kisses. She is very protective of him and if strangers get too close to him, she yells at them. She has a Dora hot wheels and he chases her when she's on it. It's just so adorable to see them playing together. Everyone gets a kick out of it. When my uncle died, my daughter's humor lifted me up and I can honestly say I would have fallen into a deep depression had it not been for her.

The word, it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
That is in Psalms 119 around 61 or somewhere around there.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
He leadeth me beside still waters
He restoreth my soul
That's peace and refreshment to my spirit every time..

sometimes, interacting with some people in some ways [not *that* way] ... it can be 'from out of the blue' ... sorta helps me get back in touch with the humanity of life
...
sometimes, listening to Mozart/Beethoven et al ... elevates me out of the dumps of human existence ...
... sometiems, seeing a bit of irony and laughing about it "takes away the depressive edge"
