Cachita is a diminutive for the name Caridad (Charity).
In Mexico I´ve heard it used to refer to any girl, as in, "Òyeme, Cachita...,(muchachita)"
I have many Cuban friends who use the word to express surprise, ("¡Ay, Cachita!") and from my understanding they are referring to a "Virgen de la Caridad" [for whom they´ve named a cathedral in Cuba] and who they invoke much like some people do when they use, "Oh, my God."

If you were to ask what "cachito" means, I can tell you it means a small piece of something.
small piece of cake = un cachito de pastèl
