I have read questions here from those who claim they have proof that God does not exist- and then they ask questions that blame God for the suffering in the world. Interesting don't you think? If there is no God, why do you think they blame someone that does not exist?
If you have not figured it out already I do believe in God-

this question was not pointed at every one who does not believe in God- there are a few here that do that. Maybe I should have said Agnostics.

I've wondered the same thing myself.

Is God our puppy dog/servant who is here to be our magic genie and grant us our every desire and if we don't get what we feel we need or want, that means that there is no God?

I believe that God is to be revered and honored. He owes us NOTHING, but he loves us and sent His son to die for us. I'm very grateful and thankful that he loves me and YOU enough to care for us and help us. But he's not my servant. I am His.

You won't find a single (reasonable) person here that says they do not believe in a god and then turns around and blames a non-existent being for something. I don't know what you've been reading....

That's like me blaming the tooth fairy for the cavities in my teeth...Silly.

*Okay, I read your edit on the Agnostics. We certainly do not blame your God for anything. We can't be sure if a higher power exists or not. If I have no proof to come to a conclusion, why am I going to waste my time pointing fingers. That's ridiculous. Educate yourself on what Atheists and Agnostics are.

Why would I blame god if I don't believe your god exists?

Seriously, do you even remotely understand the paradox of the question you just asked?

No, human beings are responsible for the way the world is in any way regarding anything happening with human beings. Nature just does what nature does and no one controls that.

People who don't believe in god blame god for all the problems in the world because maybe....

they feel all the problems in the world are caused by the PEOPLE who DO believe in god, so they blame god.

eg. the Islamic terrorists who commit acts of evil in the name of god. Or the Christians who believe that jews and muslims have a fake god and do violence. There are million of examples

I don't blame God for what is wrong with the world. I blame man's inhumanity to man and ignorance (especially willful ignorance). Much of this I think we can blame on organized religion (distinct from concepts of God).
A lot of these questions by my fellow non-believers are asking that seem to blame God for the bad in the world are designed to challenge believers and get them to justify their beliefs in the face of suffering, if they can.
It's a question of semantics, not beliefs.

They don't. They're attacking your belief in such a god that would allow everything wrong in this world. Perhaps there is some confusion. Atheists do not believe in god but god is still open to criticism like Santa Claus or Batman and it is because you believe in god that they speak on your terms as if he were real. Hypothetically...

Because they believe they need to validate their reasons for their atheism.. I guess it shows their lack of confidence in their own belief system.
Also to prove a point to everyone who does have faith, i guess.
I don't do that and i think that i am an atheist.
I will certainly bring up some things when in discussion with zealots, but otherwise, i believe its the nature of life on this planet.

There's no "proof" that any god doesn't exist. There's also no "proof" that one does.

I don't blame imaginary creatures for anything, although I suppose that leprechauns or something might make a good scapegoat for my losing things.

What the Muffin?

i find it unlikely that anyone would say that, but if they did it was used as a hypothetical, a way to question your own view of God or to justify theirs.

I don't blame god for anything- that would be like blaming pink unicorns fo the problems in my life

The question is usually phrased, "If an omnipotent, all-loving, omniscient God exists, why does he permit suffering?" or "Why do you believe in a God that permits suffering?".
