Leave her alone!!!!! If you demand the pass word from her then she definitely won't give it to you!!!!!! Beside all it is is flirty conversations through a phone!!!!!! She is obviously old enough to handle it!!!!!! And how did you know that she was sending inappropriate messages??? Quite Frankly i think that it is none of your business!!!!!!! I am sure you have done it once in your life!!!!! Do you let your Daughter go looking through your messages?? It is her personal property!!!!! She will hate you So much if you break her trust by reading some thing personal that she obviously doesn't want you or any one to read!!!!
I mean What are you going to do with her if she is sending text messages?? Tell her to stop?? She isn't going to stop!!!! So just STAY AWAY!!!! Kids will do this sort of thing it is all about growing up!!!!!!

Im pretty sure you can go to cingular and ask them how you can read them. The text messages might even show up on their records, so go see a cingular store =) Or you can just take her cell phone and read them. You are her mom and if you have a concern about her, you can do whatever you want to make sure she is being safe. =)

From the Verizon website I have read that the only way they will release the contents of text messages is through a court order. Citing privacy laws, they state that as far as they know, you could be involved in a divorce and are trying to get information about the other party involved in the divorce. For this reason, they will not just release text message content.

If she's not at least 16, there should be no reason for her to have a cell phone which is password capable. Also, if you are that nervous about what she is saying, maybe you should keep a closer eye on what she is doing. Demand that she give you the phone and only give it to her for when she HAS to have it(when she will need to call to be picked up or when she is driving) and if she doesn't have to have it, don't give it to her. All cingular will be able to tell you is when and to whom messages go. They don't have a record of the messages themselves.

Who pays the bill?? There should be no negotiating here!!! I don't know how old your daughter is, and that is really not the point!!! TRUST is a BIG thing! I would not sneak into her phone because that's just teaching her the wrong thing to do, BUT...I would make her show me the messages or take the phone away and cancel the plan. If you are on a contract...you can buy her the ugliest cheapest phone(which is just not "cool" to her friends) that you can that will not allow you to lock it.
I wish you the best!!

Is your name on the contract?
If no, then likely not. However, if you have one of the "family accounts" set-up where all the phones are under the same umbrella contract, simply different numbers, then maybe.
Otherwise, short of a court order (good luck there!), no.
Rather, I should say, that there would be no *legal* way to do so, but there are a handful of illegal ways you could do it. Needless to say I would discourage you from following this route, since it could lead to the loss of your freedom, *and* your daughter.

Why is she allowed to lock you out? I mean no disrespect, but I really think that if you are letting your, i'm assuming teenage, daughter have a cell phone then you should have total access to it. She should give you the code if you ask for it. If not, take the phone and her internet access (you can send texts from there too).

My sister did that with her husband when she suspected he was cheating, she called her wireless provider and told them that she forgot her password and they asked her what she wanted her new password to be and they changed it and she got in to his voicemail and found out her suspicions were right! you could just tell them that your daughter has a password on her text messages and you need the password or need to reset it because you think she is in danger or saying inappropriate things on it!
good luck!

No.. but I would just grab the phone at random, demand the password and if she didn't provide it I would toss the phone and cancel the plan.
