The Walker Cup...the Ryder cup is all of Europe against the US. Its an amateur version of the Ryder Cup.
Here are some of the more famous types of verisons:
Ryder Cup- Europe against US.
Presidents Cup- World (except Europe) against US
Walker Cup- GB and Ireland against US (amateur)
Seve Trophy- GB and Ireland against Contiental Europe.

Is it the Ryder Cup? It is usually played in the fall like the end of September. I remember because my daughter was born during the Ryder Cup.
